Israel’s defence minister has claimed that his country assassinated Khamenei for allegedly leading a “plan to destroy” Israel and again threatened to “eliminate” any Iranian leader who tries to promote such actions, according to Israel’s Channel 13.

Israel Katz made the comments in response to the ongoing funeral procession in Tehran, the Israeli broadcaster reported.

Iranian official likens U.S.-Iran talks to Muhammad’s Treaty of Hudaybiyyah, ‘it paved the way for future victories’

As The History of Jihad explains, Muhammad concluded the Treaty of Hudaybiyyah with the pagan Quraysh on terms unfavorable to the Muslims, much to the confusion and anger of some of his companions. A new revelation promised the disgruntled Muslims “much booty” (Qur’an 48:19). Perhaps to fulfill this promise, Muhammad led them against the Khaybar oasis, which Jews, many of them exiles from Medina, inhabited, and massacred the Jews there, seizing the promised abundance of booty. The Treaty of Hudaybiyyah only lasted until the Muslims were strong enough to break it. Now Mohammad-Hossein Saffar-Harandi is likening U.S.-Iran negotiations to the same treaty. The Trump administration should take careful note of this, and ponder its implications for the usefulness of the negotiations altogether. But it won’t.

Advisor to Iran’s top dog tells Gulf countries: ‘Your survival depends on picking up the crumbs from this table’

“Supreme Leader Advisor: Small Countries on the Margins of the Persian Gulf Should Know Their Place Better,” IranWire, June 26, 2026 (thanks to The Religion of Peace):

This is how a victorious nation speaks, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has maintained this posture unflinchingly amid Trump’s claims that the U.S. is actually the winner. It could all, of course, be an elaborate game of deception. The problem is trying to discern which side is being deceptive.

Using derogatory language, Velayati described the Persian Gulf Arab states as “the small countries on the margins of the Persian Gulf,” writing: “Your survival depends on picking up the crumbs from this table. In the rearrangement of grand equations, the small countries on the margins of the Persian Gulf have no place at the table; they will be eliminated, and their strategic existence is indebted to Tehran’s ceiling of tolerance.”…

Some leading European powers now accept

Europe capitulates at a moment Washington and Tehran (and possibly Oman) continue to be directly at odds over how future shipping traffic through the Strait of Hormuz energy chokepoint will be administered.

Bloomberg reports Thursday, “Some leading European powers now accept that ships transiting the vital Strait of Hormuz will have to pay fees to Iran and Oman, according to people familiar with the matter.”

The prospect of some sort of service fee in the aftermath of the US and Israeli war with the Islamic Republic was described as a given by two of the people, who asked not to be identified discussing private deliberations,” the report adds.

Iran: the only thing that you get when you negotiate with terrorists is more terrorism

When Has Negotiating With Islamic Terrorists Ever Worked?

Nearly 250 years ago, the United States tried negotiating with Islamic pirate states to stop the capture of American ships and the enslavement of Americans. George Washington, Thomas Jefferson and John Adams all learned the painful lesson that the negotiations were a trap.

Treaties would be signed, agreements would be reached and would soon be broken because Muslims could freely lie to ‘infidels’ and had a religious obligation to wage war on them.

“The precept of the Koran is perpetual war against all who deny that Mahomet is the prophet of God,” Adams summed it up. “The command to propagate the Moslem creed by the sword is always obligatory, when it can be made effective. The commands of the prophet may be performed alike, by fraud, or by force.”

This isn’t ancient history, it’s current events as the United States once again conducts futile negotiations with an Islamic pirate and terrorist state to stop its attacks on international shipping.

Iran Is Never Going to Stop Shutting Down the Strait of Hormuz

Iran only has one card to play and that’s shutting down the Strait of Hormuz. So it’ll never stop doing it.

Iran’s leaders, unsatisfied with billions in oil sales, access to cash, and promises of sanctions relief and $300 billion in the deal, are trying to charge for access to the strait, meanwhile despite the waivers of oil sales, they’re attacking ships passing through the strait to show they’re in charge.

He stated, “Israel, through its presence and influence, has imposed in some countries that verses that speak about the Jews should not be taught so that future generations do not learn the history of the Jews and remain ignorant of historical facts.”
Essentially he is saying that some Muslim countries, under Israel influence, are not teaching the verses of the Quran that are negative towards Jews.
Which means that the head of Hezbollah just admitted that the Quran is antisemitic.

Iran says US to unfreeze $12bn in funds

That can’t be. That is simply not happening.

  • Iran’s top negotiator Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf says an agreement has been reached with the United States to release $12bn in frozen Iranian funds.
  • Trump says Tehran agreed to allow international nuclear inspections and any released Iranian assets will be solely used to buy US agricultural products.

US and Iran can work together to reopen Strait of Hormuz, Ghalibaf says

Iran’s chief negotiator says the strait will never return to the way it was before the war but Iran will fully comply with international law.

So far, there has not been any direct statement from Iran on whether inspectors from the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) will be let back into the country.

Lebanon

A new round of US-mediated negotiations between Israel and Lebanon begins today in Washington and is due to last until Thursday.

Here’s what you need to know:

  • Lebanon is represented by Ambassador Nada Moawad, while the Israeli delegation is headed by Ambassador Yechiel Leiter. US officials are also participating in the talks.
  • The negotiations mark the fifth round between the two sides.
  • The latest discussions come after US-Iran negotiations resulted in a ceasefire agreement on June 19 and the creation of a “Lebanon de-confliction cell” tasked with supporting efforts to end Israeli attacks in the country. The ceasefire has largely held.
  • Lebanon is seeking Israel’s withdrawal from the south of the country, where the Israeli military have established a so-called “buffer zone” that encompasses about 6 percent of Lebanese territory.
  • Israel says it is seeking the “disarmament” of Hezbollah.
  • Hezbollah says the talks should be limited to “mutual security” and that its weapons must be kept off the table.

Here’s what happened overnight:

  • Iran says technical talks in Switzerland with the US have successfully concluded, and that the next phase of negotiations will involve the high-level political committee overseeing the mediation.
  • Iran’s Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf has defended the decision to hold talks with the US, saying Iranian delegates went to Switzerland to end the bloodshed in Lebanon.
  • Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, Defence Minister Israel Katz and Chief of the General Staff Eyal Zamir say Israeli troops will continue to occupy southern Lebanon.

Trump: if Iran closes the straight again they won’t have a country anymore

Trump Threatens Iran — Close the Strait ‘and You Won’t Have a Country’

After reports surfaced that Iran had closed the vital Strait of Hormuz, President Donald Trump told the Iranians who are meeting in Switzerland with Vice President JD Vance, “You close it, and you won’t have a country.  You won’t even make it back to your fucking country.”

On Saturday, Iran announced it was closing the Strait, claiming Israel’s retaliatory attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon violated the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed last week to end the war. Trump also threatened to take full control of the Strait and “blow the shit” out of Iran.

From here, things get murky (as they always do in the Middle East).

Our military says the Strait was never closed, that ships continued through without incident.

There are reports that Trump’s threat caused a walkout of the peace talks in Switzerland, but Vance says that the talks went well.

What we do know is that Hezbollah fired on Israel first. We also know that Hezbollah is a proxy of Iran and is funded by the IRGC. And every decent person knows Israel has every right to defend itself, so it was not Israel or the U.S. that first violated the precious MOU; it was the sociopaths in charge of Iran, or the sociopaths in Hezbollah.

Using his Truth Social account, Trump addressed this issue directly. “Iran must immediately stop their highly paid PROXIES in Lebanon from causing trouble, wrote Trump on Sunday. “If they don’t, we’ll hit Iran very hard again, just like we did last week, only harder!!!”

JD Vance Calls Lebanese President for Talks on Ending Israeli Invasion

Trump obviously wants to put an end to this war. Democrats and the media successfully turned public opinion against it. Gas prices turned public opinion against it. Worse still for the president, due to the sudden and unexpected opportunity to take out most of Iran’s leadership four months ago, there was no opportunity to sell the public on the need to go to war with Iran before the war started.
