The announcement comes after Madrid refused to let Washington use jointly operated military bases for the US-Israel war on Iran.

US President Donald Trump threatened to cut trade with Madrid after the Spanish government denied the US use of the Rota and Moron military bases in southern Spain, forcing 15 US aircraft to relocate.

Spain has also been a vocal critic of Israel’s  war on Gaza. In October, its parliament approved the enshrinement in law of a total arms embargo on Israel, permanently banning the sale of weapons, dual-use technology and military equipment.

President Donald Trump said on Monday that his administration is negotiating with Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, the speaker of the Iranian parliament, who he said was part of “a new, and more reasonable, regime.”

Trump said he expected to “find out in about a week” whether Ghalibaf is a suitable partner for extended negotiations.

Ghalibaf has rejected ceasefire terms, declaring Iran would continue fighting “until the enemy truly regrets its aggression.”

Pakistan Hosts ‘Peace Talks’ Without U.S., Israel, or Iran

Ghalibaf did not sound particularly reasonable on Sunday, as he accused the U.S. of insincerely talking about a ceasefire even as it plans for a ground invasion of Iran.

“Our men are waiting for the arrival of American soldiers on the ground to set them on fire and to punish their regional partners forever,” the Iranian parliamentary speaker said.

“Our strikes continue. Our missiles are active. Our determination and faith have increased. We are aware of the enemy’s weaknesses and clearly see the signs of fear and terror in the enemy’s forces,” he said.

“America is stating its wishes and announcing what it has not achieved in the war as a 15-point list and is now pursuing it through diplomacy,” he said, dismissing the rumored U.S. ceasefire plan.

“As long as Americans seek the surrender of Iran, the answer of your children to these American wishes is clear: Never will we accept humiliation,” he told the Iranian people in a televised address.

Back in February, Speaker Ghalibaf said the Islamic Republic now considers all European Union militaries to be terrorist groups.

Brussels announced  that the European Union would designate the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps as a terrorist group over its deadly crackdown on nationwide protests.

During the Iran-Iraq War, Iranian authorities sent young boys to clear minefields, promising them that a plastic key they received would grant them access to paradise if they died in battle. This practice involved using children as soldiers, often with little military training, and has been widely reported, though the existence of the keys is debated

The Islamic Republic of Iran has lowered the minimum age to 12 for participation in war-related activities. No, it’s not that boys and girls will be sent off to fight. Instead, children as young as 12 will now be used to help man checkpoints, to go on patrols (presumably to watch out for saboteurs, or for signs of discontent and defeatism among the population), and to help with logistics. The Iranian state needs all the help it can get — even from its children. The Iranian regime has lowered the minimum age for participation in war-related activities to just 12 years old, a move that will likely fuel the concerns of human rights groups, which have condemned Iran’s treatment of children.

In a televised interview with state media, Rahim Nadali, a cultural with Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) in Tehran, announced that the new initiative “For Iran” is recruiting participants to assist with patrols, checkpoints, and logistics.

“Since children are increasingly volunteering to take part, we have lowered the minimum age to 12,” Nadali said, urging young children to join the war effort if they wish.

If this has been carefully kept under wraps until now, what else is the White House and Pentagon not telling the public?

‘My favourite thing is to take the oil in Iran’: Trump indicates possibility of seizing Kharg Island

President Donald Trump said he wants to take control of oil in Iran and suggested the possibility of seizing Kharg Island, a key Iranian oil export hub, amid the ongoing US military buildup in the Middle East.

In an interview with the Financial Times, Trump said he preferred to take control of Iranian oil, comparing the strategy to the US plan in Venezuela, where it aims to control the oil industry indefinitely following the capture of Nicolás Maduro.

The neoliberals like Hillary Clinton, Victoria Nuland, Samantha Power, etc. who ran his administration did so deliberately in order to keep the region destabilized and to use Iran as a buffer to prevent the Gulf states and Israel from amassing too much prosperity.

The Arab Spring in turn was their way of creating a refugee crisis that would plunge Europe into financial and social turmoil, the effects of which are plain to see today as they struggle with irreversible demographic change. Chaos is a ladder, and peace is bad for the Democrats. It was the their way of keeping the Middle East down so they could retain the unipolar world order under the neoliberal agenda. Fatemeh Mohajerani, a spokesperson for the Iranian government, says Iran has not started the war in which the country has endured “significant losses”, both in terms of human casualties and civilian homes and infrastructure.

She said compensation is one of the demands that should be discussed in any negotiations, adding that control over the Strait of Hormuz and the lifting of sanctions are other key matters to be taken into consideration.

“We are willing to move towards a sustainable peace,” she said.
