Turning back the clock in Turkey

They always win. But they are always tense. Often, they look pensive and unhappy. They are angry, always ready to pick a fight. And they do fight.

They want to make a fake country; sin-free and dry. For that, they want everyone’s admiration and gratitude. Not everyone agrees. They won’t find peace until they make the other half of Turkey precisely as the half they command: ostensibly sin-free, so dry and privately full of sin.

Full command over nearly one half of Turkey does not satisfy them. Poor chaps; they are always angry.

BURAK BEKDİL is one of those secular Turks who don’t like to see the headbangers take over. But he is also wrong when he claims its only 50% of Turks that wants to turn the clock back. Erdogan clearly has a majority.

Greek MEP Afroditi Latinopoulou stunned the EU Parliament:

“If Israel falls, the gates of hell will open for all of us. Palestinian state does not exist.”

Bostom: From the Barbary Pirates to Today’s Islamic Supremacy

Muhammad declared war on the world in the 7th century. That war (Jihad) never stopped, it is permanent and relentless. Jihad is driven by Islamic ideology & supremacy. Western leaders talk about ‘forever wars’ as if peace could by achieved by ‘making deals’ like paying tribute (Jiziya).

They are ignorant of history.

The Barbary States, Morocco, Algiers, Tunis, and Tripoli, controlled key routes along the Mediterranean, and for centuries they financed themselves by capturing ships and ransoming crews. European powers typically paid annual tribute to avoid attacks, treating it as a cost of doing business.
.
When the United States became independent after the Revolution, it lost the protection of the British Navy and suddenly found its merchant ships exposed. With no real navy of its own, America had little leverage. By the 1790s, U.S. diplomats were negotiating payments, gifts, and even building ships for Barbary rulers just to keep American sailors safe.
.
The financial burden was enormous for a young nation still struggling with debt. In 1797, nearly one‑fifth of the entire federal budget went toward tribute, a staggering figure that sparked outrage among politicians and the public. The humiliation was just as painful as the cost: American captains were seized, crews were enslaved, and the U.S. found itself forced to negotiate from weakness.
.
This period exposed how vulnerable the country was without a navy capable of protecting its commerce. The debates in Congress became fierce, with leaders arguing that paying pirates was unsustainable and dishonorable for a sovereign nation.
.
The breaking point came when the Pasha of Tripoli demanded even higher payments and declared war on the United States in 1801. Instead of giving in, President Thomas Jefferson sent newly built American warships to the Mediterranean, marking the birth of the U.S. Navy as a global force.
.
The First Barbary War (1801–1805) and later the Second Barbary War (1815) ended the tribute system and proved that the United States could defend its interests abroad. The Barbary conflict became a defining moment in early American identity, a shift from vulnerability to capability, from paying for peace to enforcing it.

6/23/24 on WPRO with Matt Allen: Per Iran’s JIHAD Constitution, what a real “forever war”-JIHAD-looks like: “You can receive these blows in perpetuity (from Barbary or Iran’s Shiite jihadists), or you can strike back at them as Jefferson did, & as POTUS Trump did Saturday (6/21/25)”
.
The Islamic Rep of Iran is a Constitutional JIHAD TERROR STATE, “An Ideological Army,” whose goal is “fulfilling the ideological mission of jihad in Allah’s way; that is, extending the sovereignty of Allah’s law throughout the world,” per Qur’an 8:60 http://hrlibrary.umn.edu/research/iran-constitution.html

“We took the liberty to make some inquiries concerning the Grounds of their pretentions to make war upon Nations who had done them no Injury, and observed that we considered all mankind as our friends who had done us no wrong, nor had given us any provocation.

The (Tripolitan, modern Libya) Ambassador answered us that it was founded on the Laws of their Prophet that it was written in their Koran, that all nations who should not have acknowledged their authority were sinners, that it was their right and duty to make war upon them wherever they could be found, and to make slaves of all they could take as Prisoners, and that every Musselman who should be slain in battle was sure to go to Paradise.

Pauline Hanson goes to UK, meets Tommy Robinson

And the commentariat DownUnder loses their shiite. Andrew Bolt’s vile attacks on Tommy Robinson are an eye-opener to how low the journaille will stoop to keep the establishment in power and to prevent change.

Defund the ABC Australia

Just two weeks after a podcast interview with Tommy Robinson cost Karl Stefanovic his television career, Pauline Hanson has recorded her own sit-down with the British far-right figure.  (From the extreme left Financial Review)

Pauline Hanson has declared she was left “gobsmacked” after touring the English town of Luton with controversial British activist Tommy Robinson, saying the experience reinforced her determination to prevent Australia from following the same path.
The One Nation leader, who is in Britain ahead of next week’s CPAC Great Britain conference, visited Robinson’s hometown as he pointed to what he described as the town’s changing demographics and the effects of mass immigration.
During a video shared on social media, Robinson drove Ms Hanson through parts of Luton before asking for her reaction.
“I’m gobsmacked because I wouldn’t think that I was in England,” Ms Hanson said.
“I definitely don’t want Australia to become like this. This is not Great Britain to me, and that’s why I’m going to protect Australia.”

Opposition Leader Angus Taylor has diverted his attention from Labor to Pauline Hanson in a blistering attack on her party. He says One Nation would deliver an “eternity of pain” for Australia, lighting the fuse for a war of words with the senator.

Trump Draws Red Line on Iran: U.S. Strikes Hammer Regime After Hormuz Attacks, Ceasefire Collapses

President Trump is delivering on his promise of peace through strength, ordering decisive U.S. military strikes on Iranian targets after the regime violated a fragile ceasefire by attacking commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz.

The latest escalation has shattered the June memorandum of understanding aimed at winding down the Iran conflict, but Trump administration officials signal that America will not tolerate threats to global energy security or U.S. interests.

Trump Says Iran Asked to Continue Negotiations and US Agreed, but “the Cease Fire is OVER!”

Iran retaliated with attacks against Israel, Gulf states, and U.S. positions, drawing in regional proxies and expanding the conflict.

Thousands have died across the region, with millions displaced and global oil supplies disrupted

A ceasefire and MoU brought temporary calm, focusing on reopening the vital Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most important energy shipping routes.

Yet Iran quickly tested limits by harassing tankers, imposing illegal routing demands, and attacking commercial vessels.

U.S. Central Command responded with strikes against more than 80 targets, including air defenses, command centers, coastal radars, anti-ship missiles, and IRGC fast boats.

Iran responded with drones and missiles toward Gulf targets and Jordan, with some intercepted. Continue reading US president says 1,000 missiles are “locked and loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran”

Al Jazeera: “the far-right’s popularity in France has normalised in recent years”- LePen “extremely dangerous”

“Far-Right” & “Extremely Dangerous” to whom?

‘She doesn’t give up that easily’: France’s Le Pen eyes the Elysee

Marine Le Pen, convicted of embezzling EU funds, announces her plans to run in 2027 after winning an appeal.

French far-right leader Marine Le Pen blows a kiss to supporters as she leaves after a visit at a market with Jordan Bardella, president of the French far-right Rassemblement National (National Rally - RN) political party, in La Fleche, in the Sarthe department, a day after Le Pen announced her candidacy for the 2027 French presidential election following an appeals court ruling that shortened her ban on running for office while upholding her conviction for embezzling EU funds, France, July 8, 2026. Hours after an appeals court lifted a ban on Marine Le Pen’s eligibility for the next presidential election while upholding her embezzlement conviction, France’s far-right leader announced plans to run in 2027 – possibly with an electronic ankle bracelet.

“I am a candidate in the presidential election. I will not change my mind,” Le Pen told the TF1 television channel.

Europe’s right-wing forces had been watching closely as some had expected her to hand the reins to her protege, Jordan Bardella, who at 30 is 27 years younger than Le Pen, popular, and more savvy on social media.

Le Pen’s far-right National Rally (RN) party opposes globalisation and immigration and seeks stricter border controls and fewer ecological policies. She is the daughter of the party’s founder and has run for president unsuccessfully three times.

“It’s like Russian nesting dolls. Jordan Bardella is part of Marine Le Pen’s political doctrine, and he’s committed to her,” RN lawmaker Jean-Philippe Tanguy said on French TV channel BFM.

In March 2025, Le Pen was convicted of embezzling European Union funds. The original ruling disqualified her from running for public office for five years, but the appeals court reduced the ban to 45 months with 30 months suspended. The ban started in March last year, so she has already served the 15 months.

She is now planning to appeal to the Court of Cassation, which is the country’s top civil court.

Israel Shares New Intel of New Iranian Assassination Plot Against President Trump After Regime Vows Revenge

Israel has reportedly provided the United States with new intelligence indicating that the Iranian regime has developed a new plot to assassinate President Donald Trump.

According to reports published Thursday by the Wall Street Journal, Israeli intelligence recently alerted U.S. officials to a specific assassination plot targeting President Trump.

Sources familiar with the intelligence said the warning was delivered this week and involved information that U.S. agencies had not previously identified independently. Details of the alleged plot have not been publicly disclosed.

Wall Street Journal reported:

Israel shared new intelligence with the U.S. that it said indicated a fresh Iranian plan to kill President Trump, people familiar with the matter said, a finding that would mark an escalation in the war between Washington and Iran.

Iran for years has vowed openly to retaliate against Trump for the assassination of Qassem Soleimani, who was a top general in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, in the president’s first term.

The Israeli embassy in Washington declined to comment. Iran’s Mission to the United Nations didn’t immediately respond to a request for comment. The White House referred The Wall Street Journal to comments the president made on Wednesday.

China Turning on Tehran over Hormuz?

CENTCOM confirmed a new round of airstrikes against Iranian targets late on Wednesday, following Trump’s comments on further talks.

Hormuz tanker traffic ‘grinds to a halt’: Lloyd’s List

Shipping through the Strait of Hormuz has plummeted following renewed violence in the region, according to a UK-based maritime data firm.

Explosions in southern Iran after Tehran hits Gulf states and Jordan

  • Explosions have been reported across southern Iran by state media and local officials, including near the Bushehr nuclear facility.
  • Despite the blasts, a US official has told Al Jazeera that the country’s army has not carried out strikes on Iran in the last several hours.
  • Iran said earlier that it attacked “US bases and strategic centres” in Bahrain, Kuwait, and Qatar after the US bombedIranian cities for a second consecutive night.

China Demands Iran ‘Follow Through’ on U.S. Peace Deal, Signaling Frustration with Horm

The US military refutes claims by Iranian state media regarding shipping routes in the Strait of Hormuz, affirming that Iran does not control the strategic waterway.

In a post on X, CENTCOM said that “Iranian state media claims that transit through the Strait of Hormuz is only permitted through routes designated by Iran” is a “CLAIM” and that the “TRUTH” is “Iran does not control the Strait of Hormuz”.

The command further stated that “since early May, US forces have helped facilitate the successful transit of more than 800 commercial vessels and 380 million barrels of crude oil through the vital international trade corridor”.

China Turning on Tehran over Hormuz?

The Chinese Foreign Ministry lamented the resurgence of violence between Iran and the United States on Wednesday, urging both countries to “follow through on their memorandum of understanding” and “avoid resorting to force.”

Demands Iran ‘Follow Through’ on U.S. Peace Deal

China regularly condemns America for alleged belligerence on the geopolitical stage; the Foreign Ministry choosing to demand equal respect for their current peace agreement from Washington and Tehran is notable, however. Beijing referred to the hostilities as a matter that its close ally and prominent oil supplier Iran was equally responsible for rather than blaming the United States exclusively.

Speaking to reporters during her regular briefing, Foreign Ministry spokeswoman Mao Ning stated that China was “closely following” recent hostilities related to Iran and discouraged military escalation.

“Reigniting the conflict does not serve any party’s interests. Military means cannot solve the fundamental issue,” Mao asserted. “We call on the U.S. and Iran to follow through on their memorandum of understanding, resolve disputes through dialogue and negotiation, and avoid resorting to force.”

Mao’s statement did not blame the United States for the violence or exonerate Iran for its participation.

Syria: jihadis have murdered over 600 Alawites, Druze, Murshidis, Ismailis & Christians since January 2026

Not a problem for Trump. He’s eager to make ‘deals’.

Trump Says He Will Remove Syria from State Sponsors of Terrorism List

The placement of 700,000 Syrians is a “Strategic resource” for Syria. Not for Germany.

“I think I will. Why wouldn’t I? He’s done a great job,” Trump responded when reporters asked if Syria could be stricken from the list.

Trump said Syria has become “very stable” under Sharaa’s leadership and “we’re proud of that.”

Trump also suggested Syria “could help with Hezbollah,” the Iran-backed Lebanese terrorist group that has attacked Israel from both Lebanese and Syrian soil.

President Trump has spoken highly of Sharaa since their first meeting at the White House in November 2025, despite the Syrian leader’s history as a member of al-Qaeda and his time in prison after being captured by U.S. forces in Iraq. Trump described Sharaa as a “young, attractive guy” and a “tough guy” with a “very strong past” after that meeting.

Sharaa led an alliance of insurgents and jihadis to overthrow Syrian dictator Bashar Assad in December 2024, bringing a surprise end to the long and brutal Syrian civil war. Sharaa has shown interest in mending fences with the United States and European nations and his government is not overly fond of Assad’s former patrons, Russia and Iran.

Trump lifted what sanctions he could from Syria by executive order in June 2025, and a few months later Congress permanently repealed sanctions that were imposed against the Assad regime. The repeal was unconditional, but Congress included a requirement for periodic reports on counter-terrorism and human rights progress under Sharaa’s government.

The Treasury Department removed Syria from its list of “Specially Designated Global Terrorists” in November 2025, at the same time the United Nations removed Syria from its own sanctions list.

As of Wednesday, Syria remains on the State Sponsors of Terrorism (SST) list, a much more exclusive document that currently names only three other nations: Cuba, North Korea, and Iran.

Syria has rejected Germany’s plan to return over 700,000 Syrian refugees to their home country. “We categorically reject any attempts at forced deportation,” said Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad al-Shaibani. He added that Syrians in Germany are a “strategic resource” rather than a burden.

Finish the job? Trump declares the Iran ceasefire OVER

Update:

Iran hit by ‘heaviest wave of air strikes’ since ceasefire

US officials say any attempt to shut down the Strait of Hormuz will trigger a military response.

  • The US has bombed Iran again, with explosions reported in cities along the Strait of Hormuz, including Bushehr, Chabahar, Bandar Abbas, Sirik, Jask, and Abu Musa Island.
  • The attacks have killed at least one person in the city of Iranshahr and caused widespread power outages in Chabahar.
  • US President Donald Trump says the attacks are in “retribution” for alleged Iranian attacks on ships transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

Trump Says Iran Ceasefire ‘Is Over,’ Calls Tehran’s Leaders ‘Scum’

President Donald Trump declared Wednesday that he considers the Iran ceasefire effectively finished, saying he no longer believes negotiations with Tehran are worthwhile

“I think it’s over. I don’t want to deal with them… They’re sick, vicious, violent people. It’s a waste of time. They’re LIARS.”

US Military Releases Footage of Powerful Strikes Against Iran (VIDEO)

US President Donald Trump has once again turned his focus to Kharg Island, Iran’s main oil export hub, after declaring an interim ceasefire with Iran “over” and warning the US was preparing more strikes.

Trump told the Financial Times that his “preference would be to take the oil” in Iran and that US forces could seize Iran’s export hub at Kharg Island.

Kharg is a 22-square-kilometre (8.5-square-mile) coral outcrop in Iran’s Bushehr province. Closely guarded by the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), entry to the island is restricted to those with official security clearance.

Kharg processes 90 percent of Iran’s total oil exports, handling approximately 1.5 million barrels every day.

On March 14, Trump announced that the US Air Force had bombed Iranian military facilities on the island.

“For reasons of decency, I have chosen NOT to wipe out the Oil Infrastructure on the Island. However, should Iran, or anyone else, do anything to interfere with the Free and Safe Passage of Ships through the Strait of Hormuz, I will immediately reconsider this decision,” Trump wrote on Truth Social.
