‘Goods Are Not Coming In’: Tehran Braces for Unrest as Trump Intensifies Economic Offensive

Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian acknowledged Friday that the U.S. blockade has slashed Iran’s trade and left critical imports — including gasoline — unable to enter the country, as the Trump administration intensifies an economic offensive aimed at isolating a regime already confronting mounting hardship and the threat of renewed unrest.

Pezeshkian said Iranian imports and exports have fallen between 25 and 35 percent under U.S. sanctions and the blockade, with his government now considering doubling the price of gasoline purchased beyond subsidized quotas as supplies tighten.

“The route is now blocked, and goods are not coming in,” he conceded during a televised interview Friday night. “One of those goods is gasoline.”

Iran feels the pinch, but bitches:

  • Iran’s government says it will stand ⁠firm against US sanctions, and rely equally on diplomacy ‌and defence to protect its interests.
  • The Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps of Iran (IRGC) claims that it maintains firm control over the Strait of Hormuz, accusing US leaders of spreading false statements regarding the passage to sway energy prices.
  • The White House has told Al Jazeera that the US naval blockade remains fully active, reiterating that the strait is open and cleared of mines while Washington holds no talks with Iran.

Iran’s president says sanctions have cut the country’s trade by up to 35% Pezeshkian told a Government Week interview that exports and imports have fallen 25 to 35 percent under the American sanctions and blockade, and that prices will keep climbing because importers face steeper transport costs.

He said Iran sold roughly 90 million barrels of oil during the June memorandum with Washington, and that Tehran will not honor its commitments if the U.S. and Israel do not honor theirs, naming the banking sanctions and petrochemical embargo that were supposed to lift.

He also demanded Washington force Israel to halt its campaign in Lebanon. Notice what he chose to talk about next: energy conservation, and the claim that a 10 percent savings equals 900,000 barrels a day. A president reduced to selling efficiency at home is a president without much else to offer, which is the clearest confirmation yet that the pressure could actually be landing. What it has not produced is a change in Iran’s terms.

Iran’s Basij paramilitary force calls for national unity

The Basij volunteer paramilitary force is praising government efforts to counter what it described as plots by Iran’s enemies and urged it to continue pursuing what the organisation characterised as a measured approach.

No need to wish them good luck with their efforts. The Iranians will hang them from lamp posts soon enough.

Stupidity is a killer

Are you puzzled why so many LGBT activists are so passionately pro-Palestine and so hostile toward Israel? Not just critical of a policy. Not just angry at a prime minister. I mean the full activist package, signs, flags, chants, moral lectures and complete confidence that Israel is the villain.

Because if we are talking about the actual treatment of gay people, Israel is not even in the same moral universe as the forces these activists keep romanticizing. Israel is not perfect, no country is, but it is diverse, openly argumentative and home to a visible LGBT community that can organize, march, vote, sue and publicly demand more rights. The State Department has reported that Israeli law prohibits discrimination based on sexual orientation and is generally enforced, even though discrimination still exists. Reuters has covered public Pride events in Jerusalem and Tel Aviv.

Now compare that with the world the protest signs usually excuse. In the West Bank and Gaza, the State Department reported strong societal opposition to LGBTQ activities, Palestinian police often acted to prevent those activities, and observers said human rights groups in Gaza did not openly monitor or address LGBTQ matters.

Then there are the jihadists. ISIS did not need a city council vote. Human Rights Watch cited UN reporting that ISIS executed gay and bisexual men and transgender people by throwing them from high-rise buildings.

And then we saw the American version in Hamtramck, Michigan, the city that made history with an all-Muslim city council. In 2023, that council unanimously banned Pride flags from city property. AP later reported a federal judge allowed the policy to stand, noting some council members said Pride flags clashed with their religious beliefs.

That is the cartoon in real life.

One side waves the flag, marches in the street and shouts solidarity. The other side, when it gains power, says put the flag away.

No Mohammedan should hold high office in any western country.

U.N. Caught Holding Event Memorializing Hamas Terrorist Commander as ‘Colleague’

U.N. Secretary-General Antonio Guterres and U.N. General Assembly President Annalena Baerbock are under fire for honoring a Hamas terrorist leader who worked for schools funded by the notorious U.N. Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA). 

The U.N. refused to apologize on Tuesday, shrugging off the terrorist’s inclusion as an innocent mistake.

They make these ‘innocent mistakes’ all the time.

“We have chosen jihad as our path. Death in the cause of Allah is our highest aspiration,” El Samhouri said in the video. He taunted Israel over the extensive network of tunnels Hamas constructed by stealing money from humanitarian aid operations, chortling and saying that “the Zionist enemy never imagines we will emerge from beneath the ground.”

The U.N. held an annual service in June to memorialize employees who died during the previous year. The event, which was attended by Guterres and Baerbock, featured the lighting of a candle dubbed the “eternal flame” while the names of 136 fallen U.N. employees were read to the sound of a mournful violin.

Kenji Saeed was criminally charged on August 7, 2026, with suspicion of desecrating a place of worship. Once the charges against Mr. Saeed are solidified, he will either be arrested by the police or undergo questioning by the police at his residence.

For now, there have been no reports on what has happened to him.

GENEVA — In a dramatic address delivered before the United Nations Human Rights Council, Jasem Aljuraid—an Arab political refugee speaking on behalf of UN Watch—challenged the assembly’s position on the Middle East, questioning popular claims regarding indigenous rights and historical colonization.

Directly addressing the Council, Aljuraid urged diplomats to re-examine regional history:

“A Jewish kingdom ruled in Judea for a thousand years. We, the Arabs, took this land. Who Arabized Egyptians, Phoenicians, Persians, and Amazighs? It was us, the Arabs. So why does the Council enshrine a lie by keeping a permanent agenda item on Palestine, while ignoring the indigenous heart of Israel returning home?”

He went on to criticize the Council’s permanent Agenda Item 7—a mandate dedicated specifically to scrutinizing Israel—arguing that the nation’s current military actions are counter-terrorism measures that protect the wider region.

Concluding his remarks, Aljuraid defended Israel’s operational role in the region:

“Today, Israel is a fighter for peaceful nations, freeing Gaza from Hamas, and saving Iranians from the Islamic Republic. What Israel is doing to the IRGC is a gift to humanity.”

Tunisia developed one of the world’s most severe jihadist recruitment problems after the 2011 Arab Spring revolution in the country. Thousands of Tunisians traveled to Syria, Iraq and Libya to join jihadist groups, with UN-linked estimates putting the number Tunisian Jihadis fighting abroad as high as 6,000 at one point.

The explosion of Islamism occurred as Qatar became one of post-revolution Tunisia’s most influential foreign partners, pouring substantial money into the country and developing close relations with the Islamist Ennahda movement. Qatar says its Friendship Fund alone provided a $97 million development grant, alongside other investments and financial assistance.

Ennahda has deep ideological roots in the Muslim Brotherhood tradition. Its precursor movement was heavily influenced by Egyptian Brotherhood literature and developed ties with the Egyptian Brotherhood, while the founder Rached Ghannouchi has acknowledged being influenced by Muslim Brotherhood ideologues, including the movement’s founder Hassan al-Banna.

Kuffars, or non-Muslims,  have three choices: to accept Islam, to pay the jizya tax for protection, or to face conflict. This reflects historical practices regarding non-Muslims living in Islamic states.

1. Accept Islam

  • Non-Muslims can choose to convert to Islam, thereby becoming part of the Muslim community.

2. Pay the Jizya Tax

  • Kuffars can opt to pay the jizya tax, which is a form of protection tax. This allows them to live under Islamic rule while maintaining their religious identity.

3. Face Conflict

  • If neither of the above options is accepted, non-Muslims may face military conflict. (To be clear, those who reject submission will have their heads seperated from their bodies….)

Sydney’s Lakemba Mosque is trying to gain council approval to play the Islamic call to prayer from loudspeakers. Lebanese Muslim Association spokesturd Gamel Kheir says the practice is inclusive, because Islamic authorities always historically gave non-Muslims the choice to pay a special tax for protection. “If you return the call to prayer back to us, we leave you alone. Illinois Islamist Lebanese cleric and Muslim Brotherhood member Sheikh Kifah Mustapha has called for Muslims to take positions throughout major American institutions, including law enforcement, federal agencies, the Pentagon, White House and U.S. Senate.

Speaking during Friday prayers, Mustapha said:

“We want Muslims in the police, as federal agents, in the fire department, in the Pentagon, in the White House. We want Muslims in the Senate…you name it. Because we believe that if we can produce leaders that still can hold on to some of these values, we can change the world, inshallah.”

Mustapha is the Imam and Director of the Prayer Center of Orland Park and chairman of the Illinois Council of Imams and Scholars. He has also served at several other Chicago-area mosques and received a CAIR-Chicago Mobilizer Award.

Mustapha was named as an unindicted co-conspirator in the federal Holy Land Foundation terrorism-financing case and was identified in court documents as a member of the Muslim Brotherhood’s Palestine Committee.

The Muslim Brotherhood is considered the largest and best-organized Islamist group in the world, and is backed by Qatar and Turkey.

The Holy Land Foundation case ultimately resulted in five officials being convicted of providing millions of dollars to Hamas.

An academic with historic links to the now banned Hizb ut-Tahrir terror group has been recruited by Cambridge University to the same faculty as ex-professor Jason Arday.

Arday decided to kick the bucket after being exposed as a fraud.

The University of Cambridge is facing fresh scrutiny after it emerged that a former member of the now-proscribed extremist group Hizb ut-Tahrir was given a role as assistant research professor in the institution’s faculty of education last year.

According to the publication, Dr Ahmed’s chapter for the 2002 Hizb ut-Tahrir pamphlet ‘Education and Identity’ was republished in 2017.

Hizb ut-Tahrir was proscribed in the UK in 2024. 

The Spectator reported that in the pamphlet, she wrote: ‘The Muslim community as a whole in Britain needs to recognise that western education is a threat to our beliefs and values.’

She attacked schools’ ‘attempts to integrate Muslim children’ as seeking to ‘produce new generations that reject Islam’ and added: ‘if society is built on kufr [unbelief], it is our duty to tackle this challenge as a community in order to protect our young from its corruption.’

Cambridge defends academic over ‘produce weaponry for Jihad’ article

Cambridge has now told Jewish News that Ahmed says the comments were not written by her and do not represent her views.

A spokesperson for the Faculty of Education, University of Cambridge, said: “These comments were made in an article to which Dr Ahmed contributed as a historical researcher more than 20 years ago. She has said that they are not her words and do not reflect her views. Dr Ahmed also reiterated that she ended her association with Hizb ut-Tahrir more than 15 years ago, long before the group was proscribed. Her appointment at Cambridge followed a standard recruitment process and complied fully with the University’s legal obligations as an employer.”

Ahmed previously said in 2010 that she no longer supported “all” the views of Hizb ut-Tahrir and had not recently been involved with the organisation.

The revelations follow separate scrutiny of an education project led by Ahmed which promotes an Islamic curriculum. The Spectator reported last week that teaching material promoted by the project described Israelis taken hostage by Hamas on 7 October as “prisoners of war”, called Hamas an “excuse” used by Israel to justify attacks on Gaza and included a map on which Israel did not appear.

Hizb ut-Tahrir was proscribed by the UK government on 19 January 2024. Announcing the ban, the government described it as an antisemitic organisation which “actively promotes and encourages terrorism” and pointed to its praise for the Hamas attacks on Israel on 7 October 2023.
