Pakistan is not an honest broker

“Death to America” cries & dies when America bombs the IRGC. And the Paki defence minister goes apeshit over Israel. Now this guy is supposed to be a neutral arbiter of peace.

Vance in Pakistan to lead US-Iran ceasefire talks; Israel bombs Lebanon

  • US Vice President J D Vance has arrived in Pakistan’s capital Islamabad to lead the ceasefire negotiations, the highest-level talks with Iran since the 1979 Islamic revolution. Before departure, he said: “If the Iranians are willing to negotiate in good faith, we are certainly willing to extend an open hand.”
  • High-profile Iranian officials have also arrived in Islamabad for the ceasefire talks with the US, including Tehran’s parliament speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf and Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.

Who would accept this guy as an honest broker?

Israel rejects ceasefire with Hezbollah ahead of Lebanon talks

Israel says it will not discuss a ceasefire with Hezbollah when it meets Lebanese diplomats for talks in Washington next week – as Israeli attacks on Lebanon go on.

Ask Not for Whom the Hormuz Tolls

President Trump on Thursday warned Iran that it should not charge a toll for ships passing through the Strait of Hormuz, which seemed to contradict what he said to ABC’s Jonathan Karl earlier in the week. Maybe he was only joking when he said he was thinking of making the toll a “joint venture” with Iran and called it a “beautiful thing.” That might not seem like something you would joke about, but would you stand next to the Easter Bunny while making a speech about the war?

Main talking points at ceasefire talks in Pakistan

Here are the main issues the two sides are expected to discuss.

Tehran is insisting that formal talks can only begin after Washington gives commitments on a ceasefire in Lebanon and lifting sanctions on Iran. Continue reading Pakistan is not an honest broker

Trump Wins Again

The Islamic Republic of Iran now claims that the ceasefire agreement with the U.S. was meant to cover Israel as well, so that the Jewish state should also stop its attacks on Hezbollah in Lebanon. Both Israel and the United States flatly reject that claim, and a day into the ceasefire, Israel made that point forcefully by carrying out “its heaviest strikes on Lebanon since the latest conflict with Hezbollah broke out last month.”

From Masada to Marxism

The contemporary political landscape has devolved into a theater of the absurd where Democrat-voting Jews and self-described “Progressive Liberals” have effectively morphed into a PR wing for the Mullahs of Iran. This phenomenon demonstrates a level of historical amnesia that borders on the suicidal, as this faction has traded the ancestral survival instincts forged at Masada for a terminal case of Severe TDS. Lebanon is under Iranian occupation

That’s the real reason it’s turning into a killing field.

The Iranian Revolutionary Guard and Hezbollah are using the Lebanese—all Lebanese—as human shields.

In Beirut in the past 24 hours, there hasn’t been any Israeli strike since that large scale attack on Wednesday. It appears that the US administration is pressuring Israel to accept at least a reduction of violence, if not a ceasefire, because its priority is to save that deal with Iran.

But Iran has interests to ensure that deal holds, it is continuing to insist that the Lebanon front is included.

  • As the US and Iran prepare for talks in Pakistan, Israel continues to bombard Lebanon after killing at least 300 people and injuring 1,150 in nationwide strikes on Wednesday.

The Israeli military says more than 40 Hezbollah fighters have been killed in southern Lebanon over the past week, and 50 infrastructure sites destroyed.

The Israeli military has been threatening to target ambulances in Lebanon, accusing Hezbollah of making “extensive military use” of them.

Iran: the IRGC came out with a new map recently where ships must go.

They are demanding tariffs and charges that ships should pay to Iran to go through.

Hezbollah continues to target northern Israel with drones and missiles

The Lebanese armed group says its fighters targeted the Kiryat Shmona settlement in northern Israel with a squadron of attack drones on Friday.

Trump declares ‘regime change,’ says ‘Iran will cease uranium enrichment, we’ll dig out nuclear dust’

Iran’s Judiciary Chief Gholamhossein Mohseni-Ejei has ordered courts to expedite trials and executions for Iranians accused of helping foreign enemies, particularly the United States and Israel.

His directive demands that final verdicts, including capital punishment and the confiscation of assets, be carried out without delay or leniency to maintain a deterrent effect against Iranians who are opposed to the Islamic regime.

These expedited measures specifically target those labeled as “enemy agents,” with seized funds reportedly being diverted to state-controlled compensation funds.

“The Islamic Iran is exercising its undeniable right to legitimate self-defense, and we will continue this defense in the most powerful manner possible until our national security is guaranteed,” says Mohseni-Ejei.– visegrad.24

Iran: Ceasefire ‘a Mistake’

  • US President Donald Trump, writing on social media, says that “all US ships, aircraft, and military personnel” will remain in place around Iran until the “real agreement” on a ceasefire “is fully complied with”, warning of more conflict otherwise.
  • Lebanon has declared a day of mourning after a wave of Israeli attacks killed at least 254 people and injured more than 1,165 in a single day on Wednesday.

“White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt said reports the strait is closed are “a case of what they’re saying publicly is different privately—we have seen an uptick in traffic in the strait today,” she said, adding, “it has been relayed to [Trump] privately” that the strait remains open “and these reports publicly are false.””

Ceasefire ‘a mistake’, says Israeli minister from ruling Likud party

Israel’s diaspora affairs minister and member of the ruling Likud party Amichai Chikli says a ceasefire with Iran was “a mistake”, according to local media reports.

NATO will never be the same, indeed, it might not be there at all….

NATO Sec’y General: ‘Some’ in NATO Failed During Iran War, ‘Large Majority’ of Europe Didn’t

On Wednesday’s broadcast of CNN’s “The Lead,” NATO Secretary General Mark Rutte said that some NATO members did fail their tests during the war in Iran, but “a large majority” of European nations lived up to their commitments.

Host Jake Tapper asked, “Do you agree that NATO countries, some of them, were tested and failed?”

Rutte answered, “Some of them, yes, but a large majority of European countr[ies] — and that’s what we discussed today — have done what they promised before in a case like this, because they know that, when it comes to NATO, it’s there to protect the United States, because the U.S. needs a secure Atlantic and a secure Arctic and a secure Europe to stay safe here in the U.S. mainland. But it is also there to make sure that, of course, Europe is safe, and to be this platform of power projection for the United States. So, what the U.S. did with Iran, they could do because so many European countries lived up to those commitments, not all of them. And I totally understand his disappointment about that. But it is, therefore, a nuanced picture. It is not just saying it is black or white.”

Toyboy of Macronesia:

President Donald Trump and Secretary of State Marco Rubio are now saying it clearly:

Trump: “They haven’t been friends when we needed them. We’ve never asked them for much. … It’s a one-way street.”

Rubio has been similarly blunt: “If NATO is just about us defending Europe if they’re attacked but then denying us basing rights when we need them, that’s not a very good arrangement. … So all that’s going to have to be reexamined.”

They’re spot-on.

No Deal

Trump says Lebanon and Hezbollah not included in Iran ceasefire: “Yeah they were not included in the deal.” When asked about Israel’s ongoing strikes in Lebanon, Trump replied: “It’s part of the deal — everyone knows that. That’s a separate skirmish.”

The White House on Wednesday touted achieving a ceasefire and said the United States “exceeded” all military objectives in the Iran war within the initially projected time frame.

Oil tankers and high speed crafts sit anchored at Muscat Anchorage near the Strait of Horm

Iran closed the Strait of Hormuz just a few hours into the ceasefire agreement due to Israeli strikes in Lebanon.

Iran reportedly violated the ceasefire agreement brokered by Pakistan in a matter of hours by once again closing the Strait of Hormuz to commercial traffic, ostensibly because Israel has refused to halt its operation against the Hezbollah terrorists of Lebanon.

Iran’s state-run Fars news agency, which is affiliated with the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), said on Wednesday morning that two oil tankers were allowed to pass through the Strait of Hormuz “with permission from Iran” – but the strait was then closed again “in response to Israeli strikes in Lebanon.”

CBS News reported that Iran’s remaining naval forces are still warning ships in the Persian Gulf that they must obtain “permission” from Iran to transit the Strait of Hormuz.

Israeli officials, including Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and Defense Minister Israel Katz, said on Wednesday morning that Lebanon was never part of the ceasefire arrangement. President Donald Trump also said on Wednesday that Lebanon was “not included in the deal” because of the “separate skirmish” between Israel and Hezbollah.

And yes, Hezbollah gets roasted:

 Dependency with an attitude problem.

The great fraud of the contemporary world…

4 April 2026

Don’t bite the hand that feeds you. In geopolitics, the vice is uglier still: entire governments now bite the hand that shields them.

That is the modern Western arrangement in one line: America is the wealthy, capable, relentlessly active grandfather who still pays the bills, still fixes the roof, still shows up when danger turns financial or physical, and still serves as the family’s emergency backstop. Europe, Britain and Australia are the adult children who mismanaged their own households, neglected their own responsibilities, and now spend their time lecturing the one relative still keeping the lights on.

That is not an alliance at its healthiest. It is a dependency with an attitude and accountability problem.

That is the real story behind the convulsions over Iran. The issue is not merely whether Donald Trump is abrasive or disliked in political-class diplomatic circles. He is. The deeper story is that too many ‘allied’ governments have become structurally dependent, strategically incapable, and morally evasive. Nato’s own Secretary General more or less admitted as much last week: European allies and Canada lifted defence spending by 20 per cent in 2025, but only after years of leaning shamelessly on American power. The United States still accounted for around 60 per cent of Nato defence spending in 2025. That is not a balanced alliance. It is a family of overgrown children still running tabs through grandad’s account while pretending they are financially independent. It is also a representation of a clear pattern. • The United States and Iran have announced a suspension of all attacks for two weeks, and Tehran has agreed to allow safe transit of vessels through the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil prices slide, stocks surge as Trump announces two-week Iran ceasefire

Investors welcome the possible resumption of oil and gas flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

Oil prices have dived, bonds rallied, and stocks surged as a two-week ceasefire involving Iran spurred a relief rally, with investors cheering the possible resumption of oil and gas flows through the Strait of Hormuz.

US President Donald Trump said late on Tuesday that he had agreed to suspend attacks on Iran for two weeks, adding that a long-term peace agreement was in progress.

President Donald Trump has agreed to a two-week ceasefire subject to Iran implementing a complete, immediate and safe opening of the Strait of Hormuz. Immediately after the announcement of the agreement, oil prices plunged below $100 per barrel.

Israel has said the ceasefire will not include Lebanon and has continued its attacks on the country.

Hezbollah is threatening that the US-Iranian ceasefire deal could collapse altogether if the Lebanon front is not included.

The Israeli military issued a statement this morning saying the fighting with Hezbollah and the ground invasion will continue, backing what Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said – that the [ceasefire] deal does not include Lebanon.

In other news, the massive explosion of a fuel tanker truck under the Bridge of the Americas over the Panama Canal killed one person and injured two, temporarily closing the bridge. Traffic on the Panama Canal is continuing normally.
