Iran’s FM Araghchi says safe passage through Hormuz Strait possible for two weeks via coordination with armed forces

Iran’s foreign minister has shared a statement on behalf of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council declaring that “if attacks against Iran are halted, our Powerful Armed Forces will cease their defensive operations”.

“For a period of two weeks, safe passage through the Strait of Hormuz will be possible via coordination with Iran’s armed forces and with due consideration to technical limitations,” Araghchi added.

Iran accepts ceasefire after Trump says it will pause bombing for two weeks

  • Iran says it has accepted a two-week ceasefire after US President Donald Trump said he would suspend attacks subject to Tehran agreeing to fully reopen the Strait of Hormuz.
  • Iran’s foreign minister says safe passage through the key waterway will be possible for a period of two weeks via coordination with Iranian armed forces.

So far, the Iranian and US statements have not offered details on how the truce will affect southern Lebanon, where Hezbollah has been engaged in fierce fighting against invading Israeli troops.

If Lebanon is exempt from the ceasefire, it could be a major blow for Hezbollah, which is facing internal pressure from Lebanese opponents, who accuse the group of dragging the country to war for the sake of Iran.

Al Jazeera Bemoans Iran’s Attacks on Gulf Arab States

With its constant attacks on its Gulf Arab neighbors, the Islamic Republic of Iran turns those neighbors, who had tried hard to remain aloof from Iran’s conflict with America, into sworn enemies of Iran, and what’s worse, from the point of view of Al Jazeera, the propaganda mouthpiece of its owner, the Emir of Qatar, Iran’s targeting of all six of its Gulf neighbors — Qatar, the UAE, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, Kuwait, and Oman — hitting with thousands of missiles and drones their oil and gas production facilities and refineries, electrical plants, desalination plants, and airports, that only pushes those Gulf Arab states closer to Israel. Update:

No, Iran has not announced or granted blanket “free passage” to all French ships and tankers through the Strait of Hormuz as a special reward for Macron’s stance. What actually happenedA single French-owned container ship (CMA CGM Kribi, Malta-flagged) successfully transited the Strait of Hormuz on April 2–3, 2026. It was the first known French-linked (and Western European-linked) vessel to do so since the recent Iran-related conflict escalated and largely shut down commercial traffic.

Virgins! A US attack on Iran just smoked 50 SENIOR IRANIAN LEADERS

If these were senior leaders in the IRGC, you have to wonder who is left to negotiate with. Seems like the IRGC wants to go down with the ship since there seems to be no progress with the negotiations. So what will probably happen is we will keep bombing for a few more days until there is almost nothing left of Iran’s military and civilian infrastructure. Then we’ll determine that they are not a threat for a generation to come, and leave. As for the Strait of Hormuz, that’s Europe’s, China, and India’s problem. Let them have some skin in the game.

Trump: ‘It’s War’

Trump said Operation Epic Fury was nearing completion of its core military objectives, while warning that Iran would be hit “extremely hard” over the next two to three weeks if it refused to accept terms. He also warned the regime could be sent “back to the stone ages” if it continued to resist.
