“‘There will be more’: Chilling 911 call after the Chelsea explosion,” By Larry Celona, Tina Moore and Shawn Cohen, NY Post, September 18, 2016:

A 911 caller warned of further explosions right after the blast that rocked Manhattan’s Chelsea neighborhood ^[3] and injured 29 people, The Post has learned.

“I’m looking at the explosion down the block. There will be more,” the unidentified male said, claiming to be standing at 23rd Street and Seventh Avenue in the aftermath of the terrifying incident, according to law-enforcement sources Sunday.

Investigators believe the blast was the result of a home-made, pressure-cooker bomb similar to an unexploded device found later on 27th Street, sources said.

In another new wrinkle, a hand-written letter, a portion of which is in Arabic, was found inside a plastic bag that held the second device, sources said.

Cops were interviewing two men who claim to have spotted a potential person of interest in the case, sources said.

The witnesses were dining at the Krush bar and grill on 32nd Street about a half-hour before the 8:30 p.m. Saturday explosion when they saw an Arab-looking man who was carrying a suitcase and appeared out of place, sources said.

The explosion tore through Chelsea, a residential district of Manhattan that is popular for its nightlife, late on Saturday. Police later discovered a second bomb four blocks away, which was safely defused and taken away for analysis.

“A bomb exploding in New York is obviously an act of terrorism, but it’s not linked to international terrorism. In other words, we find no ISIS connection, et cetera,” said Cuomo in reference to the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant, also known as ISIL.

An investigation into a fight involving a man with a weapon at a CTrain station resulted an on-duty CPS member being slashed with a large bladed weapon and the suspect suffering from a gunshot wound.

Acting Calgary Police Service Chief Trevor Daroux says police responded to the area shortly after 2:00 p.m. following reports of a fight on the nearby LRT platform where a suspect was seen assaulting people with a weapon.

“A single vehicle officer was circulating and he saw an individual behind the dumpster that matched the description of the individual that was involved in the fight earlier on,” said Daroux. “The officer verbally engaged the suspect who then fled.”

ST. CLOUD, Minn. — Several people were injured and a suspect died Saturday night after a stabbing attack at a Minnesota mall, authorities say.

St. Cloud Police Sgt. Jason Burke said multiple victims were taken to the hospital.

Burke later confirmed that a suspect was killed and that his body was still inside the Crossroads Center mall. Burke said an undetermined number of people still remained inside the mall late Saturday, and that the investigation is ongoing.

“The individual we believe to be responsible for the victims’ stab wounds is currently deceased inside the mall,” Burke said in a statement.

A stabbing attack with multiple victims took place at St. Cloud Mall in Minneapolis.

All that has been reported despite ploughing through many videos and articles is, that the attacker is now metabolically challenged. The word that will come to replace dead any day now.

St. Cloud Hospital spokesman Chris Nelson told the Times that eight patients were brought to the hospital; seven had injuries that were not life-threatening; and one was admitted.

Danny Carranza of Willmar was with his children at the play area near Macy’s when the chaos started.

“People came running around the corner and I freaked out because I thought it was a terrorist attack or something because I saw a lot of people, so I grabbed my kids,” he said.—More kids grabbing here.

Also 29 people are dead or injured in a bombing in New York city tonight, which is quite the coincidence after the two bombs this morning at a Marine run in Jersey.

New York mayor Bill de Blasio says there is “no evidence of a terror connection” and no evidence of a threat to the city after an explosion in a Manhattan dumpster injured 29 people.

The blast occurred at about 8:30pm (local time) between 6th Avenue and 7th Avenue on 23rd Street, a major east-west thoroughfare in the fashionable downtown neighbourhood, J Peter Donald, a deputy commissioner with the New York Police Department, said on Twitter.

“Several injured transported to area hospitals,” he wrote.

Mr de Blasio said it appeared the explosion was an “intentional act”, but the cause of the explosion had not yet been determined.

The mayor also confirmed there was a second site in Manhattan also under investigation near the site of the blast.

Of the 29 people wounded in the incident, 24 have been taken to hospitals with various degrees of scrapes and abrasions from glass and metal, Fire Department commissioner Daniel Nigro said.

A car seen driving through the area had its rear window blown out.

Earlier that morning a pipe bomb exploded along the route of a New Jersey charity race to benefit military veterans, an incident investigators are treating as a possible act of terrorism.

Mr de Blasio said there was no specific evidence that the two incidents were related.

The Manhattan explosion, described by one neighbour as “deafening”, happened outside the Associated Blind Housing facility, which provides housing, training and other services for the blind.

Hundreds of people were seen fleeing down the block on the cool early autumn evening, as police cordoned off the area.

“It was really loud, it hurt my eardrums. My 10-year-old boy was sat in the back seat of the car, and the explosion blew the back window out,” said Tsi Tsi Mallett, who was in a car driving along 23rd Street when the explosion took place.

Her son was not injured.

Neha Jain, 24, who lives in the neighbourhood, said she was sitting in her room watching a movie when she suddenly heard a huge boom and everything shook.

“Pictures on my wall fell, the window curtain came flying as if there was a big gush of wind,” she said. 

“Then we could smell smoke. Went downstairs to see what happened and firemen immediately told us to go back.”

Law enforcement authorities are considering the possibility the explosion was accidentally caused by construction explosives, an official close to the investigation told Reuters.

Police and FBI agents were at the scene of the explosion and were investigating, a source also told Reuters.

US President Barack Obama had been told about the explosion, a White House official said.

World leaders, including Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull, are gathering in New York this week for the United Nations General Assembly.

New York City Police issued a bulletin advising motorists in the area they should “expect extensive traffic delays and emergency personnel in the area of 23rd Street and 7th Avenue” due to police activity there.

They asked the public to avoid the area.

Representatives of the NYPD, the Fire Department of New York and other city agencies could not be reached immediately for further comment.

Turnbull is repeating a common Leftist/Islamic supremacist talking point: that to discuss how jihadis use the texts and teachings of Islam to justify violence and make recruits among peaceful Muslims is “tagging all Muslims with the crimes of a few.” Turnbull also doubtless has in mind Trump’s proposed moratorium on Muslim immigration, which in the Left’s view is punishing all Muslims for the crimes of a few, although no one has come up with any plan for distinguishing jihadis from peaceful Muslims.

Turnbull also repeats another increasingly common talking point when he says: “Seeking to demonize or denigrate all Muslims or seek to alienate all Muslims and suggest they’re somehow not part of Australia, or shouldn’t be in Australia, is exactly what the extremists and terrorists are saying to the Muslim community.”

No one is actually seeking to demonize or denigrate all Muslims. I’ve been accused for years of saying that all Muslims are terrorists or terror sympathizers; no one has yet produced a quote from me to substantiate this claim, but it is nonetheless often made, because the claim itself is actually an attempt to discredit foes of jihad terror.

But Turnbull’s talking point here is that to speak honestly about the jihad threat is “playing into the hands” of jihadis. The idea is that saying that Muslims shouldn’t be in Australia will make Muslims who are in Australia think they’re not welcome, and lead them to join terror groups. It doesn’t seem to occur to Turnbull that if that is really what they would do, then they didn’t really have much of a problem with the terror groups in the first place — and that itself is problematic. 

Turnbull’s formulation of this point is just a slightly more sophisticated version of what London Mayor Sadiq Khan said: “We play straight into the hands of those who seek to divide us, of extremists and terrorists around the world, when we imply that it is not possible to hold Western values and to be a Muslim.” Khan’s statement assumes that Muslims will be more likely to join jihad terror groups because of what we say and don’t say, and so does Turnbull’s. In Turnbull’s world, as in Khan’s, we have to watch what we say, because saying the wrong thing will drive Muslims to jihad. It’s all up to us. The idea that Muslims might join jihad groups for reasons of their own that have nothing to do with what we do or don’t do doesn’t occur to them. It’s always the Infidel’s fault, and the Infidel’s responsibility.

UPDATE:  During the years when Republicans controlled the levers of power, Johnson worked for a law firm that represented the Guantanamo Bay detainees — very vigorously.  Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison attorneys went so far as to smuggle in materials to the detainees.  “If I’d gotten caught passing war news to detainees,” one former DOD official said, “my security clearance would have been pulled.”

This week has seen the release of many incriminating documents from the Democratic National Convention (DNC), via Wikileaks’ so-called “Guccifer 2.0.”  The authenticity of these documents is in some question, as they passed through the hands of an outfit which has alleged Russian ties.  Hackers are in the business of violating people’s expectations of privacy in unethical ways, and the interests of foreign powers are not necessarily aligned with the interests of the United States.  We cannot be sure that the hackers are ethical enough to pass the documents on unaltered, in other words, nor that the release of the documents is not chiefly aimed at some hostile foreign nation’s ends.  Thus, we have to analyze all of these documents with some care.

Saw this guy on O’Reilly today. O’Reilly is a narcissist  who never bothered to inform himself about Islam. Apart from being  a political blowhard with leftist tendencies,  he  is shallow as can be and intellectually lazy. He never had Robert Spencer on his  show and never bothered to read the Koran or anything else that could shed light on the jihad threat. In this segment, O’Reilly not only gave this guy the benefit of the doubt, he also praised him for being such a wonderful “moderate” in the service of democracy.

The former jihadist is now “deradicalized,” he has renounced al-Qaeda, he’s comfortably “moderate” now. Now blames the U.S. for jihad terror, wants to dismantle the U.S.’s entire counterterrorism apparatus (such as it is), and wants to provide “holistic socio-pschological [sic] -political-economic alternatives based in the shariah” to fighting against jihad activity.

This man is teaching at George Washington University.
