One in every four women in the world is married off by the age of 17, and a government’s attempt to prevent this has just been rebuffed as “blasphemous” and “anti-Islamic”.

Marvi Memon is a sophisticated woman. She is a member of parliament, a former banker and businesswoman, a graduate of the London School of Economics, raised in a prominent political family. She is one of the most high-profile members of the Pakistan Muslim League, which holds government in Pakistan.

None of this helped her last week, when a draft bill she had tabled, aimed at curbing child marriages, was withdrawn after it was described as “blasphemous” by a religious authority.

The current civil law designates 16 as the legal age of marriage, but in practice sharia allows girls as young as nine to be married, providing they show signs of puberty. This reflects the primacy of sharia over civil law.

I am extremely happy to be in Milan. Because this is the city which in 2005 awarded the late Oriana Fallaci, a true Italian hero, Milan’s highest award, the Ambrogino d’Oro.

She deserved it. She was one of Italy’s greatest and most courageous women and journalists. Whenever I come to Italy, I do so in honor of her: Oriana Fallaci, whose bravery in warning against the dangers of Islamization I greatly admire. Her book The Force of Reason — La Forza Della Ragione — was one the best books I have ever read. It was published in 2004 and inspired me to start my own political party that same year, a party that today — twelve years later — is by far is the biggest party in all the polls in The Netherlands with almost 30 percent of the votes.

Thank you Italy, thank you Oriana for the inspiration. I am very proud to have been awarded the Oriana Fallaci prize in Rome in 2009.

Today our civilization is still in danger, as a matter of fact worse than ever before. We are facing an existential threat.

You can see it everywhere, in all Western European countries. Our borders have been opened to Islamic mass immigration. And the consequences are terrible.

The costs are gigantic, the attacks horrible and the threat of terrorism has never been higher.

So we need to act.

That is why we are here today in Milan. With a message of strength and unity.

Together with my good friends from Italy, France, Austria, Belgium, the U.K. and other countries we have forged an alliance. An alliance with a historic mission.

Our mission is to save and defend our nations and our Western civilization, built on the legacy of Rome, Athens and Jerusalem. The survival of our freedom, identity and values are at stake.

My colleagues and I, we ring the bells of the revolution. A democratic and peaceful revolution to regain our national sovereignty. To stop the invasion.

To protect our own people, our women, our culture. We have to become the masters again of our own borders, our own budgets, our own destiny.

Our mission is to do what our governments fail to do. We say: Basta! Finita la commedia!

And there is good news. Ever more people – millions of people – join us. A patriot spring is on its way. The European elites are running our nations into the ground. We will not allow that. We will not accept that. The people will not accept that. The people will resist that.

ROME — A decision to cover up nude statues from Roman antiquity during a visit by President Hassan Rouhani of Iran has drawn ridicule and scorn in Italy — much of it directed at the Italian government — and spurred a debate about the national identity.

The statues, in a corridor leading to a grand hall in Rome’s renowned Capitoline Museums, were encased in tall white boxes ahead of a news conference that Mr. Rouhani held on Monday with Prime Minister Matteo Renzi of Italy. One of the statues was the “Capitoline Venus,” a Roman copy of a legendary fourth century B.C. work by Praxiteles; some of the other sculptures were of ancient Greek and Roman gods, dressed minimally, if at all….“The problem is that those statues — yes, those icons of classicism and models of humanism — are the foundation of European and Mediterranean culture and civilization,” the columnist Michele Serra wrote in La Repubblica. To conceal them, he wrote, “is to conceal ourselves.” To not offend the Iranian president, he wrote, “we offended ourselves.” — from the New York Times, January 27, 2016

Quickly seizing the opportunity to spend some of Iran’s newly-released 100 billion (including two billions which were for accumulated interest on Iranian accounts in American banks that had been seized decades ago and were now, under the nuclear deal, to be returned) dollars, Iranian President Hassan Rouhani made a triumphal progress through Italy and France this past week.

Man Held At Disneyland Paris With Two Handguns

A (Musel-)man armed with two hand guns and carrying a Koran has been arrested at a hotel in Disneyland Paris, according to reports on Thursday. The man had at least two firearms and a copy of the Koran, as well as ammunition, according to several reports in the French media.

Cardinal welcomes Muslim conference’s declaration on religious minorities

Cardinal Theodore McCarrick, the retired archbishop of Washington, was present in Marrakesh and welcomed the declaration.

The obviously senile cardinal has a history of cocksuckery:

The dhimmi is obliged not to mention Allah or His Apostle. Jews, Christians, and Majins must pay the jizya and on payment must hang their head while the official takes hold of his beard and hits him on the protuberant bone beneath his ear. Their houses may not be higher than the Muslims’. The dhimmi may not ride a horse or mule; he may ride a donkey only if the saddle is of wood. Defence spends $640k on sex changes

Transgender senior military officer Cate McGregor: “Abbott deserves more credit for acceptance”

TAXPAYERS spent $648,000 over 30 months for sex change and breast enhancement procedures for serving members of the Australian Defence Force (ADF).

This included 13 cases of gender dysphoria (gender identity disorder) including 10 from male to female and 15 breast enhancements between November 2012 and April this year.

The bill does not include pharmaceuticals issued by Defence.

The Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) led the way with six members undergoing gender identity treatment and eight breast enhancements.

Next was Army with five gender cases and four breast procedures and finally the Royal Australian Navy (RAN) with just two and three respectively.

The circumstances leading to the various surgical procedures is not known.
