As we previewed overnight, Elon Musk’s X has been ordered ‘immediately suspended’ by Brazilian Supreme Court Judge Alexandre de Moraes, citing the company’s refusal to comply with a legal order to censor the judge’s political opponents, Bloomberg reports.

Officially, the ruling was due to Musk’s refusal to name a legal representative for the social network (after the judge froze his last attorney’s bank accounts).

On Thursday, X’s global government affairs account said that it would “not comply in secret with illegal orders,” and said that it would publish Moraes’ demands and related court documents for transparency.

A Brazilian Supreme Court justice has ordered billionaire Elon Musk to name a legal representative for his messaging platform X in Brazil or face the site’s suspension in the country.⁣

Earlier this month, X announced it would close its operations and fire its staff in Brazil due to what it called “censorship orders” from the judge, Alexandre de Moraes. Its service would remain available for users in Brazil, it said.⁣

X, at the time, claimed Moraes secretly threatened one of the company’s legal representatives in Brazil with arrest if it did not comply with legal orders to take down some content from its platform.⁣

Italy Ramps Up Punishment For Boats Rescuing Illegals In Mediterranean

In a sharp escalation of Italy’s ongoing crackdown on illegal migration across the Mediterranean, the government of Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni has impounded a humanitarian rescue ship for the 23rd time. The vessel, Geo Barents, operated by the international medical charity Médecins Sans Frontières (MSF), was detained in the port of Salerno this week following its rescue of 191 migrants.

Giorgia Meloni’s Brothers of Italy party has touted her success at curbing migrant inflows, but humanitarian groups have accused Rome of the ‘systematic obstruction of civilian search and rescue activities’

The 60-day detention order, issued on Monday night, is one of the most severe actions taken in an 18-month campaign against humanitarian groups operating in the Mediterranean. Italian authorities accused Geo Barents of endangering lives and failing to provide timely information during a night-time rescue last Friday, when the crew intervened to save migrants from a small fiberglass boat that was being approached by a Libyan coastguard vessel, FT reports.

MSF, however, has rejected these accusations, stating that their crew had “no choice” but to carry out the rescue after witnessing a significant number of people falling—or being pushed—overboard. The charity has labeled the Italian government’s decision as “arbitrary and inhumane.”

The drones passed, praise be to God, as planned. The number of Katyusha rockets fired so far has exceeded 320 rockets directed at the enemy’s positions.”

We all know better. None of the eleven military bases that Hezbollah claimed to have hit, including the headquarters of the intelligence Unit 8200 at Glilot, were damaged in the slightest. That’s because the IDF took to heart the wisdom of the passage in the Talmud, that says “if someone says he is coming to kill you, rise up and kill him first.” That’s what the IDF did, unleashing a terrific preemptive attack on Hezbollah’s weapons before 5 a.m. Instead of the 6,000 rockets Hezbollah had ready to go on their launchers, only about 200 were left intact after the IDF’s preemptive attack, and those few hundred — closer to 200 than to the 320 Hezbollah claimed to have launched — that were let loose on the Jewish state did little damage to Israel. Iron Dome again performed spectacularly in intercepting incoming rockets. The result was that while nearly 5,800 Hezbollah rockets and launchers were destroyed, in Israel only some houses in northern Israel were slightly damaged.
