The Labor party’s proposed ‘Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation Bill’ is a direct threat to our democracy. The bill as proposed makes the government and their faceless bureaucrats the arbiters of truth. The government will decide what is allowed and not allowed to be displayed on social media. This proposal is a massive threat to free speech. As to be expected, there is a provision which excludes federal, state and local government. One rule for them and another for us. Benjamin Franklin once said: “Those who would give up essential Liberty, to purchase a little temporary safety, deserve neither Liberty nor Safety.” He was right. I will campaign strongly against this proposed bill. Give me a follow if you stand with me.

The Global Warming “crisis” was once a global cooling “crisis”!

This Time Magazine cover is the tip of the iceberg. There were hundreds of articles and books predicting an ice age by the turn of the century. But when temperatures began to rise again in the 1980s, the climate fear mongers told us that the carbon dioxide we were emitting was causing the earth to warm up! In the same year Meryl Streep hosted a PBS documentary entitled, “Race to Save the Planet”. It predicted that by the year 2000 the world’s average temperature would be four degrees warmer. None of this happened.

The Washington Post has released a story headlined “Arctic Ocean Getting Warm; Seals Vanish and Icebergs Melt.”  Highlights of the article include seals finding waters too hot, there is a radical change in climatic conditions, temperatures are rising in the arctic, and glaciers are disappearing.  Same old story, and I do mean an old story — this particular item appeared in 1922.

The Left has taken umbrage at the circulation of the story on social media because it was embellished with a warning that the sea level would rise and coastal cities would become uninhabitable.  It’s true that the archived article says nothing about rising sea levels or the habitability of coastal cities.  It is also true that the mainstream media has been issuing strident warnings that melting polar ice will render coastal cities uninhabitable.

A chef in the employ of former President Obama drowned last night while paddle boarding in a pond behind Mr. Obama’s mansion on Martha’s vineyard. Tafari Campbell, 45, was reported missing yesterday evening, and his body was discovered today. Based on videos posted to his Instagram account, Mr. Campbell was a competent swimmer, but even so he drowned in eight feet of water.

Under the traditional view the only function of government is to secure and protect those rights; even if doing so conflicts with the will of the people or the of rulers.

The disruption was the second in two months suffered by the Mawar Sharon Church (Gereja Mawar Sharon, GMS) congregation as it met in a café in Setia village, Binjai Kota Sub-District, Binjai, near the provincial capital, Medan.
