Italian Court Orders Govt. to Compensate NGO for Detaining Illegal Migrant Boat

A court in Palermo on Wednesday ordered the Italian government to compensate the German NGO Sea-Watch with 76,000 euro (roughly $89.680) for detaining one of its illegal migrant ships in 2019.

Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni described the ruling as a “decision that leaves you speechless.”

In June 2019, a Sea-Watch ship commanded by German captain and former E.U. Parliament member Carola Rackete remained off the coast of the Italian island of Lampedusa with some 40 illegal migrant aboard for several days after Italian authorities denied the ship permission to dock.

So does Russia.

Russia is urging that the United States abandon its naval blockade on the communist-run island, stressing that more room must be given for legitimate negotiations.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov told his Cuban counterpart Bruno Rodriguez on Wednesday that Cuba is “a brotherly nation” – according to Reuters.

The Cuban FM visited Moscow Wednesday. This as blackouts and severe fuel shortages have only been compounded by the US oil emargo.

“Together with most members of the international community, we call on the United States to show common sense and responsibility and refrain from plans for a naval blockade of the Island of Freedom,” said Lavrov.

“We categorically reject the unfounded accusations against Russia and Cuba and our cooperation, which allegedly pose a threat to the interests of the United States or anyone else.”

Speaking to reporters early this week, President Trump touted his tightened embargo on Cuba, pointing to moves to choke off Venezuelan oil flows and pressure Mexico to halt crude exports to the island – steps that have triggered acute fuel shortages and near total airline stoppages at Havana’s main international airport.

“Cuba is right now a failed nation, and they don’t even have jet fuel for airplanes to take off, clogging up their runway,“ Trump said aboard Air Force One. Trash is also piling up across cities in neighborhoods, as there’s literally not enough gas to power the trucks.

Well, it’s official! Britain’s ruling class is now directly betting on guaranteeing the country’s transition to Islamic law. It happens in connection with the setting up of a “working group”, whose task is to give a new definition to “Islamophobia” – i.e. the notion that criticism of or resistance to Islam is caused by insanity.

According to Tousi.tv all of the members of the working group are connected to extreme Muslims, so we know what to expect. The point is to prepare a law that will make it criminal to criticize Islam. According to the British Free Speech Union, the law should prevent criticism of Islamic ideology (the Quran and other holy scriptures), Sharia, Islamic culture and phenomena such as Islamic “grooming” and rape gangs.
