Not that it hasn’t been done before. Vehicle jihad already has a history in the dar-al harb:
Before he drove a rented SUV onto the campus of the University of North Carolina and tried to run down and kill as many people as he could on March 3, Mohammed Reza Taheri-Azar left a letter of explanationin his apartment. It is chillingly detached, almost clinical: “In the name of Allah, the merciful, the compassionate. To whom it may concern: I am writing this letter to inform you of my reasons for premeditating and attempting to murder citizens and residents of the United States of America on Friday, March 3, 2006 in the city of Chapel Hill, North Carolina by running them over with my automobile and stabbing them with a knife if the opportunities are presented to me by Allah.” (More from Spencer/Frontpagemag)
Terrorist organisation’s magazine blames country’s support of Israel and America
Al-Qaeda’s primary propaganda magazine has come out with a direct incitement for its supporters to carry out attacks in Denmark – if necessary, by running pedestrians down with vehicles. According to TV2 News, the organisation’s ‘Inspire’ magazine suggests fitting blades on the front of cars to ‘cut through Allah’s enemies at high speed’.
Denmark is mentioned in the issue as one of the countries whose ‘government and public support the Israeli occupation of Palestine and the American invasion of Iraq’. Â Â In the first-ever issue of Inspire, a death list was printed that included the names of three of the Jyllands-Posten newspaper employees associated with the Mohammed drawings.
Al-Qaida makes a full press for Muslims in America and other Western nations to wage homegrown terrorist attacks in the second issue of its English-language magazine, offering grisly suggestions that “would cause chaos and trauma among the public.”
The second edition of Inspire features articles by at least three American writers – cleric Anwar al-Awlaki, considered one of the movement’s leading recruiters, al-Qaida spokesman Adam Gadahnand Samir Khan, who writes of his decision to leave North Carolina for Yemen to aid the cause.
