* Mohammed: an enemy agent all along?
IAEA Chairman Mohamed ElBaradei leaped into action again on Monday, saying that his feckless agency has the ‘right’ to help Syria build a nuclear reactor– for ‘peaceful’ purposes only of course. The United States is seeking to block the aid.
Â
The clash reflected tensions between Mohamed ElBaradei, the head of the UN nuclear agency, and key Western nations over whether Syria should be given potentially sensitive nuclear guidance at a time when it is being investigated.
Russia, China and developing nations also back the aid project, said diplomats who spoke on condition of anonymity because of the sensitivity of the International Atomic Energy Agency talks.
US State Department spokesman Sean McCormack said it was “totally inappropriate, we believe, given the fact that Syria is under investigation by the IAEA for building a nuclear reactor outside the bounds of its international legal commitments.
“And then for the IAEA to be involved in providing technical information concerning nuclear activities would seem to be contradictory, if not ironic,” McCormack said.
I could think of a few other choice words beyond ‘contradictory’ and ‘ironic.’ But then I don’t regard the Syrians as my ‘brothers.’
The Russians and the Chinese will be ready to start work on any reactor Syria cares to have built. There will be plenty of work and money every one built will be estroyed by the Israelis, talk about work in progress. I hope Syria has deep pockets.
Muslim ElBaradei’s first loyalty is to the Ummmah humanity comes way down the list.
THe evidence that one can infer from the IAEA farce in Iran suggests strongly that El Baradei is basically just another muslim thug.
“El Baradei is basically just another muslim thug.”
Something we been saying here for the last 3 years, at least…
