Pakistani PM: Jihadi terror product of “educational, economic, and political backwardness”

                 Asif Zardari
Anything, really, as long as the focus is taken of Islam itself. Odd, however, that even though billions of peoples around this world suffer from “educational, economic and political backwardness,” the Islamic world has the lion’s share of terrorism. To be sure, Latin/South American and non-Muslim Asian and African countries also suffer “educational, economic, and political backwardness,” — indeed, anything and everything the Muslim world suffers, oftentimes more. Yet there are no records of, say, practicing Christians, Buddhists, or African animists crashing explosives-laden vehicles into their respective government’s buildings all while screaming “Jesus” or “Buddha” or “Buluku” “is great!” Why? When a non-Muslim Westerner cites all those factors as being responsible for terrorism, that’s simply ignorance, or wishful thinking; when a Muslim does it, however, such as Pakistan’s PM, it may well be taqiyya.
“Pakistan: Islam has ‘no link’ with terrorism, says PM,” from Adnkronos, via JW
Islamabad, 11 March (AKI/Asian Age) – Islam had no links with sectarianism or terrorism, Pakistani prime minister Yousaf Raza Gillani said on Tuesday. Addressing the National Seerat Conference in the capital Islamabad, Gillani called for the introduction of Islamic universal teachings to the world.Â
“Muslims around the world are victims of educational, economic and political backwardness. All negative tendencies like sectarianism, terrorism and extremism are being attributed to the Muslims. This is not right,” Gillani said.[…]
The prime minister said it was also vital to address the root causes of terrorism. “These include injustice, sense of helplessness and economic and political deprivation,” he said.
“As the world has become a global village, we have to propagate the true message of Islam which stands for universal peace and brotherhood,” said Gillani.
The prime minister regretted that faith has come under increasing attacks in the Western world resulting in recent incidents of what he called Islamophobia.
“This is mainly due to a handful of misguided people who have by their interpretation of Islam made the religion target of our detractors,” he said.

Senate committee warns that “domestic terror threat” is growing
And it is growing in no small part because of the abject failure of government and law enforcement to deal with the Islamic doctrines and beliefs that provide the justification for “terrorism.” Instead, most policymakers and law enforcement officials have decided a priori, without a shred of evidence, that those doctrines either do not exist or have no influence on American Muslims.
