I’m going to start today with a little pop quiz: What did Iran do this week?
You might have answered that President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad announced Iran will deliver a “telling blow” to global powers on February 11 (the anniversary of the Islamic Revolution). Yes, he did do that. But that’s not thelatest.
This week Iran successfully launched a rocket into space. The media yawned. The only thing they found interesting about the launch was that the rocket had a rat, two turtles and a worm on board. But they don’t look any further than that.
But technically, if Iran can send a missile up into space and have it explode, it could shut down our electronics; that would do more damage to us than any conventional bomb ever could. Imagine the chaos if an EMP bomb took all of our computers, phones, TVs, lights and flipped them off? America would be out of business.
Look, they don’t have the power to do this yet, but why would Iran want to do that? Hasn’t President Obama’snew approach to foreign policy mended all the wounds?
In March of last year, Obama called for “engagement that is honest and grounded in mutual respect” with Iran.
Mutual respect? Really?
The only reason you would even consider talking to Ahmadinejad is because you don’t understand who he really is. He’s called America the “Great Satan” and also said our friends in Israel must be “wiped off the map.”
The media yawns when Ahmadinejad runs off with the mouth because — so far — that’s all he’s done; talk. They’ve been trained to ignore him: He’s the boy who cried wolf. They don’t think he’s serious. But that’s because they haven’t bothered to look into what he believes.
There’s another thing that Ahmadinejad says that no one pays attention to. I mean, how many times have you heard the media say: Aren’t you concerned about Glenn Beck’s language? That you with your tea party sign might cause some kind of global catastrophe. But the guy that wants to vaporize Israel, they don’t put any importance on that — you need to watch this:

Wilders trial: “I much look forward to seeing Wafa Sultan take the stand. Though I slightly pity the prosecution for having to attempt to cross-examine her.”
Douglas Murray points out some of the many, many absurdities of the Wilders free speech trial in the Netherlands. “The trial of Geert Wilders: why we won’t be hearing about camel urine,” by Douglas Murray in the Telegraph, February 4 (thanks toPamela):
[…] When the trial opened a fortnight ago, Wilders asked for a rather sparky list of 18 expert witnesses. They included some noted experts on Islam and social cohesion. And also a few, ahem, practitioners of the same. They were to include Mohammed Bouyeri, who shot, stabbed and partly beheaded the film-maker Theo van Gogh in Amsterdam in 2004. And also Yusuf al-Qaradawi, the jihadist cleric who was given the red-carpet treatment in London by former mayor Ken Livingstone a few years back.Sadly the Dutch court haven’t allowed these witnesses or most of the others, leaving the defence with only three witnesses. Sultan made her name – and garnered her first fatwas – for a blinding hit-the-ball-out-of-the-stadium interview on Al Jazeera a few years ago viewable here. It caused terrible convulsions across the Muslim world, and also apparently in Sheikh al-Qaradawi who described her home-truths session as consisting of “unbearable, ghastly things that made my hair stand on end.”
I much look forward to seeing Wafa Sultan take the stand. Though I slightly pity the prosecution for having to attempt to cross-examine her.
But I can’t help feeling disappointed that Qaradawi won’t be appearing. Although he believes talking about the contents of the Koran is “unbearable, ghastly and makes his hair stand on end”, I have always thought it interesting that he doesn’t find at all hair-raising – in fact he has even been quoted on his own website as defending – certain forms of female circumcision.…
Indonesia’s blasphemy law is a case study in why such laws against insulting or defaming religions, as championed by the likes of the OIC, should be flatly rejected in the West.

Muslim organisation calls for action against “Islamophobia”
A French Muslim organisation has condemned a weekend attack on a mosque north of Paris. The phrases “Islam get out of Europe” and “France is for the French” were scrawled on the walls and entrance of a mosque in Crepy-en-Valois.
Mohammed Moussaoui, President of the French Council of the Muslim Faith, sez  “trust me..”
The mayor’s office of Crepy-en-Valois denounced what it called a “horrible, idiotic act”, while the French Council of the Muslim Faith said the attack was the latest in a long line of incidents that had targeted mosques in France.
The organisation called on authorities to take action to end the “series of shameful and hateful profanities that target houses of prayer.”
The Council, whose members are elected by French Muslims, also called for French President Nicolas Sarkozy to back a parliamentary commission that would examine the rise of Islamophobia in France.
The proposal was dropped from last week’s report that called for a ban on the full Islamic veil in official public spaces like government offices, hospitals or schools.
Last month a mosque in the southern town of Castres was targeted and had swastikas and the phrase daubed Sieg Heil on its walls.
France is home to Europe’s largest Muslim minority, estimated at between five and six million people.
