A large crowd turned up at Sydney airport to farewell Sydney’s most senior Islamic cleric, who was deported on Sunday night.

Sheikh Mansour Leghaei, a Shia cleric, was ordered to leave Australia after being declared a security risk.

Dr Leghaei boarded a flight to Iran on Sunday night and about 200 people from the Islamic Youth Centre at Earlwood turned up to support him.

Militia Units Against the “Christianization” of  Bekasi?  Does that mean jihad is not peaceful “inner struggle?”  Lets turn that around and apply that to Europe, America or Australia: can you imagine if we would form  “militia units against  Islamization?”

“It is extremely difficult to reform terrorists because we are trying to destroy years of indoctrination and misinterpretation of Islam.” One wonders why it is so difficult. If their misinterpretation of Islam is so clear, one would think it wouldn’t be all that hard to explain that to the likes of Abdullah Sonata and other jihadists, who are generally very devout and anxious to the right Islamic thing.

Unless, of course, the “misinterpretation of Islam” that the jihadists use to justify their actions and make recruits is based on a broad, mainstream tradition in Islam — a tradition that is yet to be successfully challenged on Islamic grounds by self-proclaimed moderates.

The government’s deradicalization program aimed at getting convicted terrorists to renounce violence has been declared a failure in the wake of this week’s arrest of suspect Abdullah Sonata, who was released from prison in 2009 on good behavior.”We have to say that generally the program has failed,” Minister of Justice and Human Rights Patrialis Akbar said on Friday. “There are convicts who have successfully been re-integrated back into society, leaving behind their old ways. But successes are few compared to those who remain unreformed.”

“It is extremely difficult to reform terrorists because we are trying to destroy years of indoctrination and misinterpretation of Islam,” he said. “We will solicit help from psychologists, experts, criminologists and clerics to determine the best means to reform hard-core terrorists.”

What is it with Republicans in Tennessee? Lou Ann Zelenik, who is standing as a Republican candidate for Congress in Tennessee’s 6th District, has just denounced the plan to build a new Islamic centre in Murfreesboro as part of “a political movement designed to fracture the moral and political foundation of Middle Tennessee”. Another Republican candidate, Vijay Kumar, who has in the past been boosted by David Horowitz’s FrontPage Magazine, is standing in Tennessee’s 5th District – under the slogan “Defeat Universal Jihad Now!”.

In a recent interview, Kumar explained:

“My position is clear and unequivocal: Islam’s Universal Jihad and Sharia law pose a clear and present existential threat to the very existence of the United States, and to every liberty, freedom, and human right that this nation was founded upon.

Rami does not have a passport and wants to turn himself in. A high-ranking police officer said to “focus”: “Pakistan became very uncertain for M. and other jihadists in the meantime.”

Paris: Chinese protest against lack of security

Reports of Chinese nationals in France being robbed have become more common in recent years.

The protest was organized after a Chinese man was arrested for shooting a mugger. The AFP reports about the protest as follows:

On the night of June 1, when a group of local gangsters cornered and robbed some Chinese nationals who were leaving Chinatown Belleville after a wedding, Zhong grabbed a gun and wounded a gangster, reported Nouvelles D’Europe, a Chinese language daily newspaper in Europe.

Zhong, a Wenzhou businessman, was later taken away by police and is still under arrest, according to the newspaper.   Paris police said the problem was not Zhong shooting in self defense, but illegally possessing guns, the newspaper said.

As a result  Thousands of Chinese immigrants in Paris took to the streets to protest their lack of security. They say they are being mugged and robbed by gangs of  (Muslim) ‘youth’ and that the police aren’t doing anything against it. The protest slogan was “Security for all, solidarity with the Chinese of Paris”. Signs with the slogans and “I love Belleville” shirts were handed out in advance by the organizers.

Expect no sympathy from the Socialist apparatchik  Sarkozy, who was falsely portrayed as “right wing” before his election, but adheres to an utopian moonbat view:

I would like to say one thing, in what is my conception of the Republic, security is the responsibility of the State, I am against militias, I am against the private ownership of firearms, and I’m trying to make you think about that. If you are assaulted by an armed burglar, he’ll use his weapon more effectively than you anyway so you’re risking your life. If the criminal is not armed and you are and you shoot, your life will be ruined, because killing someone over a theft is not in line with the republican values that are mine. The private ownership of firearms is dangerous. I understand your exasperation for having been burglarized two times, I understand the fear that your wife and daughter may have but the answer is in the efficiency of the police and the efficiency of the judiciary process, the answer is not in having guns at home.
