EU sends out £4.4m diaries to schools which list Muslim, Chinese and Hindu holidays… but miss out Christmas and Easter
The European Union has sent millions of diaries to schools which list the dates of Muslim, Hindu, Sikh, Jewish and Chinese festivals – but omit any mention of Christian celebrations.
In an extraordinary move, three million 2011 notebooks were printed at a cost of £4.4million to the taxpayer. Around 350,000 of the diaries have already been shipped to schools in the UK alone.
There is no record for Christmas, Easter or Lent – despite bureaucrats carefully listing the EU’s self-styled ‘Europe Day’ on May 9.
The EU was forced to apologise in the wake of the blunder as religious groups expressed their disbelief.

Another soldier was killed Saturday during a military operation in central Iraq, making it one of the deadliest days for U.S. forces in the country in months.
In May 2009, two U.S. soldiers were killed and three were wounded in Mosul by a gunman wearing an Iraqi army uniform. Baghdad, 13 Jan. (AKI) – At lest two people were killed and 14 wounded Thursday in Baghdad when three roadside bombs detonated in different locations in the Iraqi capital, according to an official at the country’s interior ministry.
One explosion killed one person and injured four others outside a Shia mosque in central Baghdad. A second blast occurred outside a Sunni mosque in northeastern Baghdad injuring three people, while a third explosion in the vicinity of a Sunni Shrine in central Baghdad killed one civilian and wounded five others.
The attacks coincided with a surprise visit to Baghdad by United States vice president Joe Biden who was due to meet with top Iraqi government officials following his arrival to the city early Thursday.
That sentiment, of course, goes for all unbelievers: the subjugation of non-Muslims under Islamic law includes the prohibition of outward manifestations of non-Islamic belief, including displaying crosses or ringing church bells. Malaysia is applying the same principle to what it sees as a heretical, inferior Islamic sect.

At least four people were shot dead and six others seriously wounded late Saturday when security forces clashed with protesters in central Tunisia.
In Algeria, three people were reported dead with more than 400 injured.
The death toll is increasing and the governments are struggling to find ways to calm tensions. Armies have been sent to control the streets, and live ammunition have been used against protesters.

One cleric goes so far as to say Christians aren’t following “Jesus Christ’s teachings” here, but in doing so, he knows his listeners believe in the revisionist, Islamic narrative about Jesus. The main purposes of Jesus’ portrayal in the Qur’an are to claim him as a messenger of Islam and deny and denounce Christian beliefs about him, with Allah saying anyone who says otherwise faces “a penalty such as I have not inflicted on any one among all the peoples” (Qur’an 5:110-118). To defend any other position would be, well, blasphemous. And you know where that leads.

Bendigo mum ‘raped as children slept’
A group of seven young men allegedly trapped a 21-year-old mother in her laundry in Bendigo, Victoria and raped her as her children slept.
Each of the men, who came to Australia as refugees from Sudan and Afghanistan, have been charged with 17 offences, including rape and assault. (NineMSM)
