Tar-baby Iraq: after the horse has bolted, you dismount…

The last American combat troops are headed home, leaving Iraq “with honour and with their heads held high,” Barack Hussein Obama contends. But it may take decades before history judges whether the President’s pullout from a war that toppled a tyrant but spun out of control into years of chaotic, bloody insurgency will be seen as an exit with honour or a cut and run.

Al Jizz grieves:

Some criticised the Americans for leaving behind a destroyed country with thousands of widows and orphans, a people deeply divided along sectarian lines and without rebuilding the devastated infrastructure.

Spencer: What Now for Iraq? Jihad.

It continues: the Muslim mob shouted “Allahu akbar,” “jihad” and anti-Christian slogans as it rampaged. One Christian liquor storeowner reported that the mob did half a million U.S. dollars’ worth of damage to his businesses—and stole $300,000 from his safe.

Nation-building was never on the agenda,  said George W. Bush…   until his advisors convinced him that it was. A trillion dollars later, with 4000 fighting men shipped home in body bags and many more thousands crippled, America has little to show for.

“Democracy under sharia”  is a sick joke; and instead of making Iraq pay reparations for the war effort it looks as though the U.S. will keep paying Iraq to not go back to civil war.

Iraq’s Christians Face Genocide:

(CNS) — An Iraqi archbishop spoke of “near-genocide conditions” for Christians in his country and said those fleeing violence were straining resources in other parts of the country.

McCain Blasts Obama Over Iraq:

‘History Will Judge this President’s Leadership with the Scorn and Disdain it Deserves’

Once victory is achieved, you don’t just piss it away. But common sense doesn’t apply to the Manchurian Moonbat who just went off on a 40 $ million dollar holiday to Hawaii.

Obama’s Wish Granted: The Last Convoy Of U.S. Troops Leave Iraq

“The final column of around 100 mostly U.S. military MRAP armoured vehicles carrying 500 U.S. troops trundled across the southern Iraq desert from their last base through the night and daybreak along an empty highway to the Kuwaiti border.” (GWP)

Chairman of the U.S. Joint Chiefs: ‘There is a “Nefarious” Iranian Influence In Iraq’

There is? Who would have thought?
