A friend of mine went to Sudan a while ago and sent me this picture of Sufi Muslims worshiping in front of a giant metal jug.
Muslims all over the Middle East seem to have an obsession with jugs and tin pots filled with water,  which they proudly  carry around  for ritual washing. So is this a celebration of ablution, the Mohammedan obligation of ritual washing? Perhaps some of our Muslim readers could enlighten us about the significance of this giant jug? If you read this, please do call in and let us know.

It was the result of trying to outdo infidels – and got completely the wrong idea when they heard Westerners like big jugs?
