The key problem is that radical Islam, by its own admission in venues too numerous to count, views itself as the ONLY permissible religion, above ALL other religions and ideologies, and Shari’a as a law above ALL laws. There is not even a pretense of ay “legal pluralism” here. Islam is supposed to be dominant by decree, and everything ought to bow to it. Which creates an interesting problem — litigation between Muslim and non-Muslim. By which law? By which court? In which cases? Technically I suppose the non-Muslim should bow to superior Islamic legal authority automatically, defer to it, and shut up or else. And guess what. Many of us have the following reaction — that is the attitude of a country and a people that has suffered major defeat in a great war and is under occupation authority. Yet no country has suffered such devastating defeat, or is under Islamic occupation authority. In your dreams. You want to enjoy that kind of dominance? You want to dominate absolutely, as if you already had your religiously superior sandalled foot on the necks of cowering slaves and captives? You will have to fight for it, and it will be a hard fight beyond the worst of your imagination. Such a degree of thirst for absolute and unquestioned domination elicits absolute resistance. No retreat, no surrender, no prisoners. Ever. Under any circumstances.
