  1. British police stopped investigating shoplifting incidents under 75 pounds (from memory) some years back. It might be 7,500 now – quoting Winston Churchill or Bible verses can still attract a visit from Plod, of course.

  2. Not only should they wear their uniforms in public, they should also carry automatic weapons at all times in public!
