Australia has a Race Discrimination Commissioner who fights and fights for a costume designed to blot women out of public life

Somali-born Ayaan Hirsi Ali puts the feminist case against the burqa: 

We have a religion (Islam) that dictates exactly what the position of the woman is; it is at home, it’s with the children. She needs to cover her body to stop men from getting excited and aroused. That’s what we need to discuss as feminists. Are they fair? Or are they outdated and unjust? I want to argue they are outdated and they are unjust.

Yet in Australia we have a Race Discrimination Commissioner who fights and fights for a costume designed to blot women out of public life:

Why this is an issue of “race” is unclear. Why the Race Discrimination Commissioner defends sexism is even more obscure.

But the bigger question is why the Sex Discrimination Commissioner, Elizabeth Broderick, has nothing at all to say against the burqa or the niqab. Is there any item of clothing, other than a collar and leash, that more symbolises the subjugation of women?

Why this silence?

And, once again, I ask why we are funding a Human Rights Commission – escpecially one that has so often sided against freedom, that most precious of all our rights.

As the recent coverage of the Oklahoma beheading makes clear, the mainstream media forces its agenda and worldview on the American people regardless of the facts. The media goes to extreme lengths to fabricate allegations of Islamaphobia or tea party-related terrorism. At the same time, it distorts or ignores stories that do not portray Islam in a flattering light.

This troubling tendency was apparent early in the Obama administration. On May 31, 2009, Dr. George Tiller — one of a handful of “doctors” in the U.S. to perform late-term abortions — was shot and killed by a pro-life activist named Scott Roeder in Wichita, Kansas. That same day in Arkansas, Abdulhakim Mujahid Muhammad — a recent Muslim convert — shot two U.S. Army soldiers who recently completed basic training, killing one and seriously injuring another. According to Muhammad, he targeted the soldiers “because of what they had done to Muslims in the past.” Muhammad had recently travelled to Yemen and authorities stated that the attack was motivated by disagreements with U.S. military operations in the Middle East.

The media’s attempt to indoctrinate Americans with its agenda and worldview was apparent in its disparate treatment of these two events. With respect to the Tiller incident, pundits warned of rising right-wing violence fueled by Fox News. Keith Olbermann blamed Fox News host Bill O’Reilly, a frequent Tiller critic, “for inciting the murder of Dr. George Tiller.” Writing for Salon, Gabriel Winant argued O’Reilly was “irresponsible” for putting Tiller “in the public eye.”  MSNBC’s Rachel Maddow attempted to link the pro-life movement with terrorism. Maddow claimed “there’s an anti-abortion terrorist movement in the United States that operates relatively openly.”

On September 27 I broke the story that a former member of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City had firsthand experience that the mosque was anything but “moderate.” On September 30, 2014, I interviewed a former member of the Islamic Society of Greater Oklahoma City, the mosque frequented by Jah’Keem Yisrael (Alexander Nolen), who beheaded one woman and attempted to behead another on September 26. The ex-member revealed that the mosque was not at all as “moderate” as its leaders claimed in the wake of the beheading.

“To the public, the mosque will not promote terrorism or any kind of radical acts,” he said. “But when they’re among friends and congregants only, they will promote the true teachings of Islam, which include the offer to non-Muslims – the choice, rather – that you must convert, live under Islamic rule, or be fought against.”

Member of Oklahoma Beheader’s Mosque Drops BOMBSHELL on Megyn Kelly

An attendee of the same Oklahoma mosque that accused beheader Alton Nolen attended appeared on Fox News’ The Kelly File last night to discuss the goings-on inside the “peaceful” place of worship, and what he had to say isn’t going to bode well for Nolen or Muslim sympathizers.

Going only by “Noor,” the man explained to host Megyn Kelly that after two years of worshipping in the mosque, he became convinced that Islam actually promotes radical jihad. His description of the non-public teachings lend much insight into how Nolen became so radicalized that he beheaded a woman in Moore, Oklahoma.

Islamo-apologist Aly does it again

Even before the embarrassing backdown there were problems. For starters, it’s not a burqa. A burqa is that particularly Afghan garment, usually blue, with the mesh covering the eyes. The one you’ve seen on the news (or perhaps on Jacqui Lambie’s Facebook page), but almost certainly never in Australia.

False reassurance. In fact, I’ve seen burqas worn near the Flemington housing commission flats and in a Bunnings hardware store in Hawthorn.

We’re talking about the niqab, common in the Gulf and worn by – my guess – a couple of hundred Australians. I have to guess, because we don’t even bother with such basic research…

False reassurance. Just “a couple of hundred”? Really?:

Strip it all back and they’ve done nothing to invite this. They aren’t the ones charged with plotting “demonstration killings”. They aren’t the ones being busted carrying weapons or attacking police officers. 

True, but some have their sons join jihadists abroad, or are extremists devout Muslims who harass police:

They are, however, the ones most often assaulted or abused on the street or on public transport. They’re the ones whose freedom we try most to restrict.

Pandering to victimology. What freedom have women in burqas and in niqabs actually had restricted here, other than by the costume itself?

Netanyahu: Obama Needs to Get the Facts Straight

Thursday on MSNBC’s “Andrea Mitchell Reports,” Israel Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu responded to yesterday’s criticismsfrom the White House by suggesting the Obama administration does not have the facts straight on housing developments in East Jerusalem.

Netanyahu said, “I think they [the Obama administration] should be acquainted with the facts first. You know? First of all, these are not settlements. These are neighborhoods of Jerusalem. We have Arab neighborhoods and we have Jewish neighborhoods.”

He added, “It doesn’t make me feel good. I think the important thing is to just get the facts right. I mean start with the facts.”

Some lessons from a Hamas sermon

Here is a sermon given by Halil al-Hayya, member of Hamas’ Political Bureau, on September 12. In it, he declares that Israel will never be part of the region, as it has been predestined by Allah to vanish.

While the rhetoric is familiar, there are a couple of interesting points.

The verse he quotes, from the Quran 17:7, actually refers to the destruction of the Second Temple by the Romans, not a future destruction of Jews in Israel:

[Speaking to the Jews:] So when the second of the warnings came to pass, (We permitted your enemies) to disfigure your faces, and to enter your Temple as they had entered it before, and to visit with destruction all that fell into their power.

This is obvious both from the context of the chapter and from the fact that no one is building a new Temple. Unless the Quran predicts the building of the Third Temple, which it doesn’t.

Interestingly, this online translation of the Quran adds the words “in Jerusalem” after the word “Temple.” of course, the word Jerusalem is never mentioned in the Quran. but this shows that Muslims know very well that the Temple was there before the Al Aqsa Masque – but they won’t admit it to Westerners.

Another point of this sermon is that, contrary to new Hamas claims that it is a national liberation movement, al-Hayya says that Palestine is the “spearhead of the nation.” Not the “nation” but a “spearhead – for the entire Muslim ‘umma, or, in current parlance, the Caliphate.
