“We are no better….”

Greetings from al Andalus, where Muslims, Jews and Christians all lived in harmony during the Islamic ‘Golden Age’.

At the Mosque Cathedral of Cordoba I briefly listened in on a German tour guide, who lectured a group of elderly Germans.
IMG_0289The reconquista, he said, started around the year 1000. That is quite wrong because Don Pelayo started his war against the Moors way back in 711.

The bishop, he said, should have left the mosque intact. He could have built his cathedral just down the road, but because he had to take possession of the Mezquita–catedral de Córdoba this intolerant act made the Muslims hate us so much that they turned the Hagia Sophia into a mosque.  And then they did the same to St Johns cathedral in Damascus.

“We are no better than them”, he said.

  1. Maybe the best thing is to convert the mosque to a shopping mall. How many churches and synagogues of distinction have the Muslims destroyed in the Islamic Crusades? Why should we care what some idiot guide has to say about about Cordoba Mosque. There shouldn’t be a Cordoba Mosque.
If the Spaniards lived so well with the Muslims as Dhimmis then what was the purpose of the Requonquista? Simply put no one has ever been happy with Islamist rule. For all the crying the blues Muslims do about the Crusades it was the Muslims who brought this one on themselves, and deservedly so. If Muhammad and his band of religious perverts hadn’t made war on everyone else, which continues to this day, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

  2. That is disgusting. What a bunch of lies and propaganda. Who filled his head with such stupidity?

The reconquista went from the 8th century to the 16th century. isabella completed the conquer of Muslim controlled territories and began the deportation in 1492 with mixed success of the magreb muslims. It wasn’t until Ferdinand? the late 16th century, who finally put his foot down and demanded the muslim minority to convert or get the hell out.
