Stockholm: it was terrifying, but what was it?

We now expect after every Islamic terrorist attack to hear the disclaimer that it had nothing to do with Islam, and that the peaceful message of Islam was “hijacked” by the terrorists. The Western world is by now becoming inured to the slaughter of innocents by Muslim madmen. And more often than not, the victims of this slaughter are Muslim. That this is happening under the gaze of an insouciant Western world says everything about why Muslim fundamentalists are invigorated and believe a universal Islamic caliphate is a tangible objective. But it says even more about how delusional the Western world is for believing that the encroachments upon our democratic freedoms was not a direct consequence of accommodating the Islamic supremacists who walk among us.–Robert Spencer: making things appear what they are not.

Jihad happens when you plant Mohammedans among civilised people.

STOCKHOLM (AFP) – Stockholm’s usually vibrant city centre was eerily silent on Friday evening with restaurants, bars and cinemas shuttered and streets emptied hours after a truck ploughed into a crowd outside a department store, killing four people and injuring 15.

Stockholmers appeared to be following police advice to stay indoors and avoid crowded areas, with a number of normally-bustling city streets deserted.

The attack occurred just before 3:00 pm (1300 GMT) when a beer truck slammed into the corner of the bustling Ahlens store and the popular pedestrian street Drottninggatan, above ground from Stockholm’s central subway station.

The initial scene was chaotic.

After emergency responders rushed to the scene, several bodies could be seen lying on the ground covered with orange blankets. Shattered glass was scattered on the ground near a large blood stain on the asphalt.

  1. Sheesh, all this “life will go on” and “our democracy will not be destroyed” rubbish. Life is getting harder and harder for non-Muslims. Next all Uber vehicles will be Bushmasters. Democracy is already on life support and the prognosis is bleak. Like the Titanic, the band plays on. And on. Change the tune, guys! It’s not to late to do some damage control and stop democracy from going the way of ancient Egypt, Greece and Rome. But you have to admit to a problem before being motivated to fix it.

  2. The sentiments and expressions of grief are self-destructive. The time for grief is long over.

  3. Like most European country’s the Swedish authorities are walking in a conga line with their collective heads up the persons in fronts arse! Don’t call out the elephant in the room, just pull out that tired old appeasement line of it has nothing to do with Islam or it was a troubled individual with mental problems. When are these pathetic excuses for leaders going to pull in the doormat and admit the problem is ISLAM, it has always been ISLAM and it will always be ISLAM! The lack of rocket scientists in Europe at the moment is mind boggling!
