British High Commissioner Menna Rawlings, in a statement at Parliament House, describes the recent Manchester attack as an “awful incident” adding “that the UK remains highly resilient”. She goes on to say “Our values of freedom and liberty and democracy will hold true, and we will not now or in the future be defeated by terrorism.”

Sadly, she is delusional. Britain, like most of the Western world, refuses to recognise there is a problem with Islam. That in itself is defeat. When children are slaughtered as a result of incompetent political leaders and policy, liberty and freedom cease to exist.

Forget resilience and candles. It’s time for governments, including Australia, to take action, implement sensible policies to protect their citizens, or be complicit in the destruction of our civilization.

Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull has vowed to “win the war against terror” and moved to reassure Australians after the Manchester terror attack.

Speaking with A Current Affair on Tuesday night, Mr Turnbull told Tracy Grimshaw his government was “constantly working to keep Australians safe”.

“Since September 2014, we have arrested here in Australia 63 people on terror offences, including a person today,” he said.

“We have thwarted 12 plots. There have been four terrorist incidents that have occurred during that period. So the protection that our agencies give is substantial, but it cannot be 100 percent.

“There is no guarantee that a terrorist event cannot occur.”

‘It was the worst moment of my life’: Witnesses describe the explosion
Mr Turnbull has condemned the “vile, reprehensible attack on innocence” which saw at least 22 people killed and dozens injured following an Ariana Grande concert on Monday night.

“Our prayers, our sympathy, our heartfelt sympathy goes out to the victims, to their families, to the people of Britain facing this attack and above all, our resolute solidarity,” he said.

“We stand with the people of Britain, we stand with Britain as we always have, defying terrorism.”

The Prime Minister added he had been working closely with intelligence agencies to ensure the protection of Australians at mass gatherings.

“I asked the Australia-New Zealand Counter-Terrorism Committee, which brings together my federal agencies and all of the states and territories, and New Zealand, to work together on a new upgraded plan to defend places of mass gathering and that is nearly complete,” Mr Turnbull said.

“I’ve been discussing this today with my counter-terrorism coordinator, with the Director General of ASIO and just a moment ago, with the Commissioner of the Australian Federal Police.

“These are constantly under review. They will assess each event in the light of the risk assessment that is appropriate. It’s a very dynamic environment.

Malcolm Turnbull expresses solidarity with Manchester attack victims
“We have to constantly monitor the intelligence and constantly adjust the levels of protection in the light of what we’re saying as patterns developing both here and overseas.”

With the ongoing fight against ISIS continuing in the Middle East, Mr Turnbull was resolute the war against terror would not only be won locally, but also on the battlefield.

“We will crush the terrorists. We will destroy them in the field, we will destroy their so-called caliphate in the field which they have used as their recruiting method and we will defeat them at home and abroad,” he said.
