Fatah Central Committee member Abbas Zaki said that the July 14 shooting attack in the Old City of Jerusalem, carried out by Israeli Arabs, pointed to an escalation in the situation, which, he said, was heading toward a “big explosion.” “If the political process fails, nobody can stop people who want to die,” said Zaki, speaking on Mayadeen TV on the day of the attack. He further pointed to U.S. President Trump’s visit to the Al-Buraq [Western] Wall, where he “performed the rituals performed by Jews,” and said: “This is very dangerous.”

Sheikh Khatib explained that these substances have a delayed effect, enabling Israel to claim that the cracks and fissures in the mosque structure are the working of nature.

In a July 16 interview with Qatar’s Al-Jazeera TV network, Sheikh Kamal Khatib, the deputy head of the Islamic Movement in Israel, said that Israel has been injecting chemical substances into the walls of the Al-Aqsa Mosque in order to cause its corrosion. Kamal Khatib: 22 years ago, we said that the Al-Aqsa Mosque was in danger. At the time, we said that throughout the excavations, the occupation used chemical substances that have a long-term effect. These substances could eat away at the rocks and pillars, but its effect would not show immediately, and afterwards they would be able to claim that the cracks in Al-Aqsa [walls]… It has happened. There are fissures and sinkholes in some places. [Their plan was that] they would be able to claim that it was the working of nature. It seems… Actually, I shouldn’t say “seems”…
Interviewer: Sorry to interrupt you, Sheikh, but did [Israel] do it now, when the mosque was closed? Did it execute this secret scheme?
Kamal Khatib: Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes. I fear – I am almost convinced – that the goal of Israel in closing the mosque was not just to search for weapons, as the [Israelis] claimed. They know that there are no weapons inside the blessed Al-Aqsa Mosque.

Abbas Zaki: This operation came from the depth of the 1948 lands, from Umm Al-Fahm. It came from people who have Israeli ID cards, and who are the most familiar with the changes within Israel.
These young men, instead of going from Umm Al-Fahm to Jerusalem, could have killed 20 Israelis there, but the fact that they chose Friday for their souls to ascend [to Heaven] from the place of the Prophet’s ascension points to dangerous things. If there is a vacuum in the national activity and the political process fails, nobody can stop people who want to die.
I believe that the situation is heading toward a big explosion. You cannot know exactly how this explosion will take place. It does not matter whether we condemn or support [the attack]. The operation was carried out by people from within the ’48 borders, with [Israeli] ID cards.
The situation will escalate for a reason. In the past, people thought that there was a chance for peace, but for the first time, an American president comes along, and performs Jewish rituals at the Al-Buraq Wall – which he calls “the Wailing Wall.” Even though he was not accompanied by anyone, he put on a yarmulke and performed the rituals performed by Jews. This is very dangerous.
Jewish rituals dangerous? Only a Muslim could think that. The fact that the Al-Aqsa mosque still stands is testimony to the decency and restraint shown by Israel. Solomon’s temple was there over a thousand years before Islam was dreamed up. Islam has zero claim to the site and the mosque should be demolished.
Decency & restraint be damned! Falestinians want to die, to be martyrs, give them what they want! Feed their corpses to pigs and the pigs to their families and tribes.

Any behaviour that muslims disagree with is seen as ‘dangerous’ by them.

As far as using metal detectors goes – this is a totally sane and rational – and necessary – development. It does not target muslims – it targets anyone who wants to enter that location with a concealed metal weapon. It is not intrusive, takes little time and ensures the health and safety of visitors.
I’m glad that the media is at least reporting that muslims are reacting violently and protesting against the use of metal detectors . It shows them up for the duplicitous, irrational, over emotional creatures that they are.
