Tim Blair, The Daily Telegraph
The most sacred tenet of the leftist faith is unlimited access to other people’s money, for whatever purpose a leftist may desire. Any blasphemer who questions this holy entitlement will face a righteous condemnation.
For example, a few days ago I posted a brief item supporting former education minister Simon Birmingham’s veto of ridiculous grants, including:
$222,936 for a study of “post Orientalist arts in the Strait of Gibraltar”;
Nearly $1 million set to be wasted on “writing the struggle for Sioux and US modernity”;
and $226,811 earmarked for the examination of “musical heritage and cultural justice in the post-industrial legacy city”.

Reasonable people may have opposing points of view on the worth of academic grants and may argue in civil terms for their respective causes. This, however, was the response in comments from sweet leftist Mark:
You’re a dirty filthy disease Blair.
It doesn’t take much, does it?
