Among other changes, WHO is pushing for “equity” in access to vaccines and medicines, meaning the U.S. will be hindered from rushing new vaccines and treatments to its own population until poor countries are supplied, never mind who develops and pays for the drugs. Should the United States surrender its ability to care for its own population for the sake of global “equity”? The answer is no.

The answer to your question is “ideology”, the same ideology that started the whole “global warming” scam. In a nutshell it follows the argument “white man is evil and has raped the land for industrial growth, and needs to compensate the Third World” … and so we got ludicrous “solutions” like “carbon credits”. The reality is that, left to its own devices, the world is self-healing. Increased CO2 promotes increased plant growth, which in turn reduces CO2 levels. We would do far better turning resources to reducing pollution, growing forests, and cleaning up the environment. That said, a reduction in fossil fuels is a good thing, but not because the world is going to erupt in walls of flames if we don’t.
