Zero communication from the Oz gubbermint. We, the citizens, have been deceived. Importing ISIL brood sows and their offspring and settling them amongst their former victims adds insult to injury.
Community outrage as first IS repatriation flight arrives in Australia
Outrage is growing in some Australian refugee communities after the first plane-load of former Islamic State (IS) brides and their children arrived back Down Under.
Among those with serious concerns are families in south-west Sydney who were forced to flee the terror in Syria.
Fairfield Mayor Frank Carbone told Today it was “a raw issue” for families in his community and it is hard for them to accept.
“This is really raw and it’s really concerning for them and you’ve got to understand the horror experience these people have gone through,” Carbone said.
He claimed the federal government had not been forthright with information about the repatriation of the former IS brides and children and there is just as much worry about the cost as the security risk.
“The government needs to come clean, make sure every Australian is safe, need to guarantee people’s safety and security especially after ASIO has actually torn up their passports,” he said.
“I would trust ASIO before any politician so this is what I’m concerned about.”
The government has put safety measures in place, like having the repatriated members wear ankle monitors but Carbone said the fact they have to have ankle bracelets “concerns him”.
“If the government has to put ankle bracelets on people coming back, that should be of concern for every single Australian,” he said.
“They haven’t said there’s zero risk so how much risk do we want to take as a community?”
