The Australian government, one of the biggest purveyors of misinformation in the world, are now attempting to create what is essentially akin to a Ministry of Truth to fine social media companies for failing to censor people. The first people to be censored should be our very own politicians who are the enemy of the people.

New ACMA powers to combat misinformation and disinformation

Labor is attempting to establish a ‘Ministry of Truth’ with the power to censor anything they deem as “misinformation”. If passed, Australian Communications and Media Authority would become the ‘arbiter of truth’, with the ability to censor anything on social media that contradicted the government’s narrative. This pattern of government interference in free speech is being rolled out across the Western world. Australia is becoming little more than a vassal state of the global elite.

Everyone has the right to freedom of opinion and expression; this right includes freedom to hold opinions without interference and to seek, receive and impart information and ideas through any media and regardless of frontiers.

Having read the Australian Communications Legislation Amendment (Combatting Misinformation and Disinformation) Bill 2023 I am outraged. Never have a felt so positively livid with the Australian Government, not even during the “jail-time” lockdowns. As I read the Bill tonight I have posted a series of Tweets pointing to Clauses people who care about their freedom of speech, people who believe men cannot be women and Christians should be particularly wary about. I will compile this into a submission to Government. In the meantime, here are my tweets in a single thread.

(1/9) Has anyone had a look at the newly proposed Aus misinformation and disinformation Bill? Just started reading it and already note there is NO exclusion to its application to religious content on digital platforms. That is, ANY digital platform that allows Biblical views, which unbelievers view as misinformation, can be (i.e. will be) fined. Ironically, Govt. content is excluded.

2/9) Look at the defn. of “Harm” in the newly proposed Australian “Misinformation and Disinformation Bill”. If this Bill gets past into law, Item (b) will be used to hammer any speech that goes against the Govt. narrative. End game stuff for digital freedom of speech in Australia.

(3/9) The new Australian “Misinformation and Disinformation Bill” gives a free pass to the MSM (“professional news content”) to publish whatever the hell it wants to. But you, oh you, you likely purveyor of mis- and dis- information — you will shut up and bend the knee!
(4/9) New Australian Mis-Dis-Information Bill (“Bill”): “Oh, I hear you stream your church service good minister?” Minister: “Sure do, what’s it with you?” Bill: “Sorry, that’s misinformation now. Off it goes.” Minister: “But it wasn’t even on youtube??” Bill: “I was satisfied your website met the provisions. Goodbye.”
(5/9) Christian, do you believe the Bible? do you want to communicate an idea about that? on a digital platform? NO! You will use email! (Australian Mis-Dis-Information Bill 2023)
6/9) The Australian Govt believes men can be women. There is no way in hell they will regard our public thoughts, stemming from a Biblical worldview, as anything other than misinformation. The Australian Mis-Dis-Information Bill MUST have an exclusion for religious content.
(7/9) When we saw the Twitter Files we were shocked. When the Australian Government saw the Twitter Files they had an idea. May I present to you: Clause 16(2) of the Australian Misinformation & Disinformation Bill.
(8/9) ACMA (Australian Communciations & Media Authority) will have a new power to drag ordinary Australian citizens in front of misinformation kangaroo courts under Clause 19 (3)(d) of the new Mis-Dis-Information Bill.
(9/9) Under S40 (1)(d) of the new Australian Mis-Dis-Information Bill, ACMA will unilaterally decide whether Australian citizens have enough freedom of political communication. Nevermind precedent. Nevermind common law.
