They say I live on stolen land. But I came here as a convict and built myself up from nothing. Seven generations of perseverance in a wild, untamed land. I’m told I’m committing genocide against the indigenous. But their population is increasing, along with their standard of living and life expectancy. They want me to feel guilt. For some undefined crime committed by someone unknown to me. But I won’t be made to feel guilty when I’ve done nothing wrong. There’s no blood on my hands and I’m ok with that. And if you could choose to be born in any country, Australia would be close to the top of the list. Sunshine, beaches, mountains. A high income nation with an (overly) generous social welfare system. 48% of aboriginals receive welfare. Free money derived from the fruits of others’ labour. I don’t see any genocide in that. And now 52% of Australia is Native Title. The majority of the country has been handed over to people free of charge on the basis of their race. But still there’s complaints. They march in the streets and burn my flag. And on Australia Day, if I have a BBQ at the beach I’m labelled a racist. They want to change the date. And, to be honest, as a laidback Australian I’m not that concerned about which day I celebrate this nation. As long as it’s in summer and I get a public holiday. As long as the whole nation supports it and it’s a day of joy. Like it used to be. Every memory I have of Australia day is cold Coronas and the JJJ Hottest 100. The best day of the year. It’s nothing more than that. A day to set aside the nonsense and enjoy what this land has to offer. And what it’s given us.

Good Morning fellow Patriots, Parents and Christians. It’s is Day 17 of #AustraliaMonth and today we would like to celebrate the man that without, founding of this great nation would never have been possible! Capitan James Cook. Born November 7, 1728, in the village of Marton, Yorkshire. He was the second of eight children of a Scottish farm labourer. He joined the British merchant navy as a teenager and joined the Royal Navy in 1755. He served in the Seven Years’ War and was responsible for surveying and mapping much of the entrance to the St. Lawrence River during the siege of Quebec, which gained him notoriety with the Admiralty and the Royal Society. He was awarded his first commission in 1768 as commander of HMS Endeavour for the first of three Pacific voyages. On these voyages he mapped lands from New Zealand to Hawaii in the Pacific Ocean in greater detail and on a scale not previously charted by Western explorers. On Cook’s first voyage he reached the southeastern coast of Australia near today’s Point Hicks on April 19, 1770, and in doing so his expedition became the first recorded Europeans to have encountered its eastern coastline. Cook then continued northwards along the coastline, keeping the land in sight with Cook charting and naming landmarks as he went. On April 29, Cook and crew made their first landfall on the continent at a beach now known as Silver Beach on Botany Bay. Cook and his crew stayed on at Botany Bay for a week and sought to establish relations with the Indigenous population without success. Cook originally named the inlet “Sting-Ray Harbour” after the many stingrays found there. This was later changed to “Botanist Bay” and finally Botany Bay after the unique specimens retrieved by the botanists. There is so much more to this man’s story and I strongly recommend you delve into it deeper, as his contributions to the world, as well our great nation are awe inspiring!
