SACK THE eSAFETY COMMISSAR
🤦♀️The eSafety Commissar’s mismanagement over her role in the attempted censorship of the reality of the attack on the Bishop has bought Australia’s international reputation into disrepute and made our nation a global laughing stock.
🤦♀️She is totalitarian zealot out of control demanding global censorship. 🤦♀️Australia’s international reputation has been shredded in recent years, and she needs to be sack to try repair it .
🤦♀️Firstly, the idea that some unelected bureaucrat in a single county has the power to censor the internet globally is a dangerous absurdity – yet this is exactly what the eSafety Commissar is using taxpayer money for to argue in court. 🤦♀️This would set a precedent that any country could globally censor any images if they were against that country’s domestic laws.
🤦♀️So for example, if Chinese police were bashing Hong Kong residents, pepper spraying old ladies and firing rubber bullets into the backs of peaceful protesters fleeing through a public park – then the Chinese Communist Government would be able to hide such abuses of human rights from the world.
🤦♀️Secondly, the eSafety Commissar’s clumsy attempts to censor the images of the attack have created the “Streisand effect” – greatly increasing public awareness of the very images she was attempting to hide and downplay.
🤦♀️She stupidly seems unaware that if you make a big song & dance about censoring something, you only enliven the public’s curiosity to see it. Or maybe its just that some individuals get their kicks by making orders about what others can see, hear, and say.
🤦♀️Thirdly, the video of the attack remains easily available on other platforms for anyone that wants to go searching for it.
🤦♀️And it defies belief that we have such a pathetically weak and cowardly Liberal opposition that they won’t make any criticism.
WARNING: government elites want to dictate whether what you say is ‘true’ and whether you’re allowed to say it.
If our government is allowed to censor what can and can’t be said, our democracy dies.
No politician should restrict the right of citizens like you to hear ALL sides of the story.
But right now, Labor, the Greens and the Teals are planning a new law to let the government decide what’s ‘true’ and what’s not.
They want to make their own ‘Ministry of Truth’.
They want new ‘political truth’1 and ‘misinformation’2 laws to stop Australians having their say.
They want the government to decide the truth. And if they decide you’re guilty of ‘misinformation’, they’ll shut you down and hit solid citizens with unfair criminal convictions.
Faceless bureaucrats and big tech will decide what’s true and what isn’t – but how can they decide who’s telling the truth and who’s lying?
The truth is – they can’t.
We already know the ‘fact checkers’ get it wrong all the time. It’s a disgrace. And these laws will make it worse.
Legitimate points of view will be silenced. Social media posts hidden. Signs pulled down. Australians on trial for stating their beliefs.
This is not about truth, it’s about suppressing those who disagree.
That’s why together we’re calling on Australia’s MPs to block this authoritarian power grab.
Together we’re urgently demanding they put the values of free speech and open debate.
