When the plane lands, the flight attendant engages in some pagan ritual I’m unfamiliar with. And now all the cities have been renamed in some language foreign to me. The footy match opens with another pagan ritual. The audience members stare at me as I refuse to participate. When did we revert to these strange practices? When did they kill our own God and replace him with the ghosts of a civilisation that never existed? Christian nations built everything we hold dear: human rights and legal systems and ethereal architecture of timeless beauty. Whereas these pagan spirits left their hosts impoverished in pre-stone age conditions. It makes no sense to me. Is this societal self-immolation?
Crazy fanciful isn’t it. Aboriginals invented nothing & contribute very, very little. How many thousands of years is it this week? Every divided tribe lead a nomadic, food scarce, no mercy for the weak, fight to survive. The whole premise of some noble savage is beyond parody.
