KRudd under fire for $90k Pride party as the country is gripped by cost-of-living crisis
US Ambassador Kevin Rudd has come under fire for spending $90,000 on a Pride party including $4000 on booze and more than $12,000 for catering for 200 people.
According to a report first published by The Daily Telegraph on Friday, the Pride party — held to celebrate the LGBTQ+ community — involved $11,000 spent for Eurovision act Electric Fields to perform, and $775 for Pride flag balloons to decorate the event.
Guests dined on mini chicken parmas, mini BLTs, and honey mint lamb bites at a total catering cost of $12,400 paid to Bella Cuisine, with the invoice also including 10 waiters, four chefs, three bartenders and a supervisor at the event.
