Disgusting.
Update:
The West started it all, and pushed Russia to the limits of its patience:
* 2014 EU/US/UK coup in Kiev, CIA enters Ukraine, 12 CIA/NATO bases set up, covert military ops against Donbass …Russians, & inside Russia itself. Revealed in New York Times 25 February 2024:
https://www.hawaiitribune-herald.com/2024/02/26/nation-world-news/the-spy-war-how-the-cia-secretly-helps-ukraine-fight-putin/
* 2014 on: New Ukraine gov., backed by US State Department psychopath Victoria Nuland, includes openly Nazi elements, persecutes & shells Donbass Russians for next 8 years, killing …14,000, fuelled by NATO training and weaponry.
* 2015 MINSK agreement between RUS-UKR to bring peace, brokered by EU powers. Unilaterally broken by West.
…Admission by Angela Merkel (German leader) that it was a fraud, intended to deceive Russia & allow them to build up …more weaponry in Ukraine
* 2021 Russia’s draft proposals for a comprehensive European Security Treaty rejected by USA out of hand.
* 2022 ISTANBUL Agreement: RUS-UKR initial a peace deal, one month into war. Sabotaged by UK premier Boris Johnson, acting for NATO. This would have left Ukraine intact apart from Crimea (which Ukraine accepted is now returned to Russia), ensured Ukraine remained a NEUTRAL state on Russia’s border, with no foreign military presence. (Just like Austria) and saved THOUSANDS OF LIVES, But the West wanted none of it; wanted to “inflict a humiliating defeat on Russia”, so sabotaged it.
Putin’s speech to assembled party leaders of the Russian Parliament July 2022:
http://en.kremlin.ru/events/president/news/68836
“The so-called collective West led by the United States has been extremely aggressive towards Russia for decades. Our proposals to create a system of equal security in Europe have been rejected. Initiatives for cooperation on the issue of missile defence were rejected. Warnings about the unacceptability of NATO expansion, especially at the expense of the former republics of the Soviet Union, were ignored. Even the idea of Russia’s possible integration into this North Atlantic alliance at the stage of our, as it seemed then, cloudless relations with NATO, apparently, seemed absurd to its members.
“They should have realised that they would lose from the very beginning of our special military operation, because this operation also means the beginning of a radical breakdown of the US-style world order. This is the beginning of the transition from liberal-globalist American egocentrism to a truly multipolar world…..”
