Watch Australian politicians squirm & give non-answers to how they expect to verify people’s ages to use social media. Both major parties (@AlboMP & @PeterDutton_MP) have expressed their desire to rush the legislation banning under 16s on social media through by the end of the year.

Translation: “Kids must be protected online. But privacy online too must be protected. How? No clue. But before we know how to protect privacy online we must protect the kids online. That’s why we’re passing this legislation immediately.” The Australian Uniparty

This isn’t about safety, it’s about control. The government’s ‘for the kids’ narrative is a smokescreen for a rushed power grab over our online lives.
