Trump Means the End of KRudd
We don’t need a village idiot in Washington.Australia’s Ambassador to the US Kevin Rudd (KRudd) faces calls for dismissal as he holidays amid crucial Trump transition
As leaders around the globe have prepared for the inauguration of US President-elect Donald Trump, Australia’s Ambassador Kevin Rudd has been spending his holiday time in Brisbane, Queensland.
The former Prime Minister, who has faced intense scrutiny over his past criticisms of the incoming president, has been on a two-week break before returning to Washington on January 8.
KRudd would be well advised to stay home. Trump will give him a shoe in the a$$ the moment he steps out of the embassy.
The Albanese government has been urged to dismiss Ambassador to the US Kevin Rudd, who has decided to take a holiday at one of the most important times for Canberra-Washington diplomacy ahead of the inauguration of President-elect Donald Trump.
“It has been clear for some time that Kevin Rudd would be persona non grata in the Trump administration, but the Prime Minister has let Australia down by his typical inaction in resolving this matter.”
Mr Rudd’s relationship with Trump has been fraught since 2016, when he labelled Trump a “village idiot”, “traitor to the West”, and “nuts”.
