Ukraine: what’s in it for us?

 Lindsey Graham flipping on Zelensky isn’t just politics, it’s damage control.

The crimes committed under Ukraine’s watch are stacking up, and the receipts are coming. Weapons in the hands of cartels and terrorists, biolab mysteries, political assassinations—it’s all going to surface. The real question: Will the people who backed this disaster be held accountable, or will they just find a new puppet?

As his nation faces a disastrous war that has cost hundreds of thousands of lives, Ukraine’s dictator Volodymyr Zelensky has been winning hearts and support from Western leaders and “mainstream” media. Indeed, few other figures in world’s history have ever received better treatment than him.

Western commentators compare him to legendary figures of the past. So appealing is he, and so insistent is his call for military intervention, that some of these commentators even seem ready to risk global war to support him.


This worshipful backing of the Ukrainian dictator is one of the reasons as to why he has been unwilling to negotiate a peace agreement with Russia. These narratives deliberately provoke on Western minds the thought that Zelensky is a brave democratic leader fighting against an external aggressor.


Never mind that the five-year term of President Zelensky has expired on May 20, 2024. War coupled with Western support and popularity has kept him in power despite his term expiring.


Although it might be difficult to hold presidential elections during martial law, the Ukrainian Constitution does not ban holding elections while such law is in place. All the Constitution says is that presidential terms must last five years (Article 103). Ukrainian lawyers point out that the absence of a mechanism for extending a president’s term is a “deliberate omission” aimed at reducing the risk of abuse of power.


Zelensky won the presidential election because he appeared to stand for everything the unpopular incumbent symbolised. The 2021 election that brought Zelensky to power was not the result of the strength of Ukrainian democracy but of Western dependency and oligarchic control.


When Zelensky got elected he had neither programme nor party but simply adopted the name of his television show, Servant of the People. As a candidate, he was supported by the oligarch Ihor Kolomoiskyi and his popular TV channel. Kolomoiskyi has shifted billions of dollars from Ukraine to offshore funds.


As a candidate, Zelensky spoke in favour of legalising drugs and sex work, and against restricting abortions. He called the late fascist leader, Stepan Bandera, “an undeniable hero,” although in the southern and eastern parts of Ukraine the vast majority of the population think of Bandera as a Nazi collaborator.


The current government of Zelensky is responsible for repression, censorship and discriminatory measures. His government is known for shutting down the media, for arresting political opponents, for the assassination of journalists, and for banning the Russian language in education for Russian speakers, which violates the rights of Russian speakers who comprise half of the Ukrainian population.


However, Zelensky has skillfully allured the Ukrainian people to commit national suicide with false promises of grandiose achievements in his pursuit of prolonging the war. This is especially tragic because, as noted by Ted Snider, a regular columnist on U.S. foreign policy at The Libertarian Institute,


The war has escalated into a nightmare for the people of Ukraine. Hundreds of thousands of their soldiers have been killed or wounded, infrastructure and environment have been devasted. Ukraine’s chances of achieving any of its hope or goals are decreasing and more land is being lost every day.


Zelensky was born to Jewish parents in the Ukrainian city of Rkyvyi Rih. He earned a Bachelor of Laws from the Kryvyi Rih Institute of Economics but did not practice law, preferring instead to make a career as a comedian. In the 2019 election, Zelensky was the most unlikely candidate to win that election. And yet, he won that election in a landslide in great part due to his promise to establish peaceful relations with Russia.


Prior to this, the comedian turned politician created his own political satire, Servant of the People, a television series that introduces Zelensky in the character of a teacher who unexpectedly becomes president. It was his work in this political satire “that was something of a road map for his rise to the presidency.”


Once installed as president, Zelenskyi did not reverse the exclusionary nationalist drift of Poroshenko’s rule, despite the expectations of a large part of his voters. Zelenskyi’s civic nationalism remained shallow, paying lip service to diversity in the place of meaningful action.


Beginning in 2021, the president increasingly targeted political opponents with threats and sanctions, went after their financial backers and banned most of the major opposition media. Squawks of disapproval from human rights organizations aside, those measures elicited no significant reaction from “the West”. Few observers questioned the idea that persecution of so-called pro-Russian forces was inevitable and even legitimate in a country under the foreign threat. Few still considered whether depriving a large segment of the population of political and public representation made Ukraine weaker, rather than stronger, vis-à-vis Russia.


Zelensky is heavily associated with some of the most powerful and notorious global oligarchs. Support for him comes directly from George Soros, Klaus Schwab, and numerous other oligarchs. Curiously, Klaus Schwab has even bragged about helping to elect him. When Zelensky was elected, he hailed Canada’s Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, another of Schawb’s pupils, as “one of those leaders who inspired him to join politics.” Like Trudeau, Zelensky is an acolyte of Schwab’s World Economic Forum (WEF), the globalist organisation behind the “Great Reset.”


Ukraine is identified as one of the most corrupt countries in the world, certainly the most corrupt country in Europe. The country has acquired the unenviable reputation of having become the world’s most notorious money laundering nations. Zelensky himself presides over a notoriously corrupt regime. His government is known for shutting down the media and the assassination of independent journalists, for arresting political opponents and church leaders, and for banning the Russian language in education.


Journalist Leon Kushner, a Jew who was raised by Holocaust survivors from Ukraine and who regularly contributes to The Jerusalem Post, comments:
“Ukraine is not a democracy and never has been. It is as corrupt as Russia or perhaps more so. Definitely more antisemitic. Since 2014, Ukraine has become the world’s most popular money laundering state. Oligarchs run it mob style and chose the then actor Zelensky to be their presidential puppet. The WEF’s Klaus Schwab bragged about helping elect him and his equivalent Canadian puppet Trudeau. Just about every rich and famous player has been to Ukraine. And came back with even more money. From Bill Gates to Joe Biden, from George Soros to the Clintons. They all know that Ukraine is open for business”.


Russia and Ukraine have the largest number of Christians in Europe. Today, 71 per cent of Russians and 78 per cent of Ukrainians identify as Orthodox Christians. The Zelensky regime continues cracking down on priests of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church. Security forces in Ukraine regularly carry out raids of Orthodox churches and arrest their clerics on accusations of treason.


Since February 2022, UOC churches have been stormed, closed and destroyed. At the same time, the mobs who organise violence in churches are protected by the Ukrainian authorities. The involvement of the Azov movement in these violent actions against the Orthodox priests is particularly disturbing. Azov adherents embrace Neo-Nazi imagery and practices.


In an open letter dated April 12, 2023, and addressed to Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople, Sylvester, vicar of the Kiev Metropoly and rector of the Kiev Theological Academy and Seminary, commented that this violence against the Church is taking place with the direct participation of law enforcement authorities.


Zelensky has signed a law that effectively bans the Ukrainian Orthodox Church (UOC). This legislation, passed by the Ukrainian parliament on August 20, 2024, and signed into law on August 24, 2024, prohibits the activities of religious organizations declared to be affiliated with Russia, particularly targeting the UOC, which is the largest religious institution in Ukraine.


This is the kind of anti-Christian persecution more commonly associated with Stalin’s Soviet Union. But one should not be surprised because the pro-West Zelensky regime is notoriously hostile to all forms of Christian morality. His government has legalised abortion, prostitution, the use of cannabis (weed), and gambling.


Under Western influence, Ukraine has become an “outpost of globalism” and a “bastion of leftism.” According to French essayist and philosopher Lucien Cerise, “the main actors in this morality revolution are George Soros’ Open Society Foundation, but also NATO, the armed wing of globalism, which also advocates ‘inclusive diversity’ and ‘open society.’”


To conclude, Zelensky has cancelled elections, promoted violence against Orthodox Christians, and extend his own term in office, thus effectively becoming a brutal dictator. In all this he has been cheered on by warmongering Western leaders and idolised by the Western media.


Curiously enough, Zelensky had run as a peace candidate who promised the Ukrainians to bring peace to their nation. Instead, he appears to operate in “the spirit of the anti-Christ” by sowing discord between two white Christian nations.
Accordingly, neither Zelensky nor the Western leaders, Australia’s included, who support his murderous regime are truly prepared to make a peace agreement with the Russians, which leads one to question their real motivations and whether there might be a deliberate concern to push for an apocalyptic Third World War with Russia.
