Labor’s approach to the violent youth machete gangs has been bins that cost the taxpayer $375K each – hoping that the gang members see the light and discard their weapons after being involved in violent carjackings, home invasions and robberies.

The next phase of Labor’s strategy is millions on advertising to try and win the hearts and minds of young people to let them know that attacking a person with a machete is dangerous and you will go to jail.

The plan isn’t for harsher consequences, stronger bail laws or more police.
Under Labor there are no early intervention programs for high-risk youth after PM Albo and Labor at federal level cut the $120 million aimed at keeping high-risk youth in schools, getting training to help get employment and if had left school and if in jail be provided with mentors and support to make sure they dont go back to their gangs.
