A notorious Islamist city councillor in Sydney who once travelled to Gaza to meet Hamas terrorist leader Ismail Haniyeh has allegedly played a crucial role in the attempted demolition of a heritage Christian church in Sydney.
City of Canterbury Bankstown Labor councillor Khodr Saleh OAM (pictured with Prime Minister Anthony Albanese) previously met with Hamas terrorist leader Ismail Haniyeh as part of a delegation to Gaza in 2012.
The Australian government awarded Mr Khodr Saleh an Order of Australia medal in 2019 for his ‘’contributions to the Australian Muslim community’’ and his ‘’services to multicultural diversity in Canterbury Bankstown.’’
Mr Khodr Saleh OAM voted to reject a heritage listing for St Paul’s Anglican Church in Bankstown, paving the way for the Bankstown Planning Panel to vote on Monday night for its demolition.
In 1970 the City of Canterbury Bankstown was approximately 88% Christian and 1% Islamic.
Today it is about 40% Christian and 25% Islamic.
