Israel killed a senior Hamas commander on Saturday in a strike on a vehicle inside Gaza.
In a joint statement, the Israeli military and security agency Shin Bet announced it had “eliminated” Raed Saad, the head of weapons production for Hamas’s military wing, the Qassam Brigades, in Gaza city.

* Hamas’ Weapons Chief Eliminated in Gaza City Strike*
A top Hamas commander, Raad Saad, was killed in an airstrike on a vehicle moving along Gaza City’s Rashid coastal road, according to Israeli officials.
The IDF said it carried out a strike on a “key” Hamas terrorist who had recently been involved in efforts to restore and manufacture Hamas weapons, and Israeli officials identified the target as Saad. Saad is widely described in Israeli and Hamas-linked sourcing as the head of Hamas’s weapons manufacturing
apparatus and effectively the No. 2 military figure in Gaza behind Izz al-Din al-Haddad.
Gaza health authorities reported four killed and at least 25 wounded in the attack, while Hamas has not issued immediate confirmation that Saad was among the dead.
