Two US Service Members Killed in Syria Following Ambush Attack, Multiple Others Injured
According to Fox News, a senior U.S. official confirmed to the outlet that multiple American service members were injured during an ambush in Syria on Saturday.
The official noted that some of the injuries were serious.
Two local Syrian officials earlier told Reuters that a convoy of U.S. and Syrian forces fighting the Islamic State terrorist group was targeted while on patrol in the central town of Palmyra.
Reuters reports that the attack left two soldiers and a civilian interpreter killed.
Two U.S. Army soldiers and a civilian interpreter were killed in an Islamic State attack on Saturday in Palmyra, Syria, where they were supporting counterterrorism operations, the Pentagon said.
Three others were wounded, Pentagon spokesman Sean Parnell said. Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth said the attacker was killed by partner forces.
Parnell shared on X, “Today in Palmyra, Syria, two United States Army soldiers and one civilian U.S. interpreter were killed, and three were wounded.”

The terrorist who killed two U.S. servicemen is Abu Jaber Alshami. He belongs to HTS and is one of the key figures in Al-Julani’s regime. Yet America is trusting a regime that openly hates the U.S. and seeks to kill Americans.
