Chicago imam and activist Khalid Nijmeh said at a December 26, 2025 session of the Islamic Oasis Winter Conference, held in Chicago, that President Trump only wants one kind of Muslims in the United States – those who “bow down and give up their religion.” He said that Islam is like a machine that will “grind every other idea existing,” that the “wheel of Islam is running,” and that Islam will eventually prevail.

Khalid Nijmeh: “Lately, we heard that President Trump was talking about Muslims here in the States, and he wanted one certain type of Islam – the ones who only give up their religion.

“This is what is allowed to be living in this country. The ones who bow down and give up their religion. Those are the Muslims who are welcome and are allowed to be living here. But the ones who stand for their religion, for Islam, and for what they believe are not welcome.

“Islam is like a machine that will grind every other idea existing and will continue turning, and this is the point. The wheel of Islam is running. With you or without you, it is running. It’s all about you, if you turn with this wheel or you don’t. Islam is running, Allah makes it running, this machine is running and grinding every other ideal in the world. Eventually Islam will prevail.”
