Australia Bans Bans Hizb ut-Tahrir

Australia Finally Bans Radical Islamist Group Hizb ut-Tahrir – Long Overdue

Hizb ut-Tahrir has been banned in Australia under new hate laws due to its promotion of extremist ideology and hate speech, particularly following the Bondi terror attack. The ban makes it illegal to support or be involved with the group, carrying penalties of up to 15 years in prison

“Victory Against Hate”

This will just drive the group underground and harder to monitor. The Al Bozo gov’t wants to be seen doing “something”, which doesn’t amount to much at all.

As of March 5, 2026, Australia has taken a decisive stand against extremism: the federal government has officially banned Hizb ut-Tahrir under new hate group laws.

The prohibition takes effect March 6.

This marks the first application of Labor’s post-Bondi counter-hate measures to outlaw an organization that – while claiming to reject violence – openly pushes a toxic, anti-Western ideology, glorifies attacks like October 7, and calls for a global caliphate that would erase secular democracy.

Membership in Hizb ut-Tahrir will now carry up to 7 years in prison. Recruiting, training, funding, or knowingly receiving funds from the group? Up to 15 years behind bars. No more free rides for groups that spread division, antisemitism, and Islamist supremacism while hiding behind “non-violence.”The group has been outlawed in over a dozen countries – including the UK, Germany, and much of the Muslim world – for good reason. It radicalizes under the guise of politics, fuels anti-Western protests, and creates fertile ground for more dangerous actors.

Australians have waited too long for leaders to stop coddling these threats in the name of “free speech.” Public pressure after years of provocations, hate-filled rallies, and security warnings finally forced action.

This ban isn’t about religion – it’s about protecting national security and social cohesion from an ideology fundamentally hostile to Western values. Well done to the government for finally drawing the line. Now extend it to every group that peddles the same poison. No exceptions. No apologies.
