Iran denies Trump’s claim of Doha meeting, slams France’s Hormuz plans
- United States President Donald Trump claims Iran has “requested a meeting” following the exchange of strikes last week, and says it will take place in Qatar today.
- Iran’s Foreign Ministry denies any planned meeting with the US but says it will send an expert delegation to Doha to follow up on the release of frozen Iranian funds.
- Tehran also rejects France’s de-mining plans for the Strait of Hormuz, warning Paris against “provocations” in a “sensitive and complex situation”.
- Israeli forces kill at least eight Palestinians in Gaza and strike southern Lebanon again, despite a ceasefire agreement with Beirut.
- The IRGC says its forces have destroyed eight US military sites in Kuwait and Bahrain, with the attacks described as retaliation for recent US strikes on Iranian facilities.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says the Strait of Hormuz remains under total Iranian control for the next 30 days and any US attacks will only exacerbate the precarious situation.
- The US bombed Iran for a second day, hitting Qeshm Island and the cities of Sirik and Bandar-e Lengeh after a drone attack on a commercial vessel near the Strait of Hormuz.
- Iran said it has launched retaliatory attacks on US forces in Bahrain and Kuwait and warned of a “crushing response” to further strikes.

Israel claims Hezbollah infrastructure destroyed in Lebanon
Israel claims to have destroyed a Hezbollah underground facility in southern Lebanon, according to a joint statement by the Israeli prime minister and defence minister on Sunday on X.
It said that the alleged tunnel network was “over 200 metres long [656ft] and more than 25 metres deep [82ft]”, and contained “hundreds of combat means and several launch silos”. It did not provide any evidence to back up the claims.
