This is how a victorious nation speaks, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has maintained this posture unflinchingly amid Trump’s claims that the U.S. is actually the winner. It could all, of course, be an elaborate game of deception. The problem is trying to discern which side is being deceptive.
Using derogatory language, Velayati described the Persian Gulf Arab states as “the small countries on the margins of the Persian Gulf,” writing: “Your survival depends on picking up the crumbs from this table. Trump administration renews pressure on International Criminal Court
The US says it will reject any effort by court to assert authority over citizens, days after judges sue over sanctions.
The US is not a party to the Rome Statute, the court’s founding document, and the country is therefore not subject to the court’s jurisdiction.
