This is how a victorious nation speaks, and the Islamic Republic of Iran has maintained this posture unflinchingly amid Trump’s claims that the U.S. is actually the winner. It could all, of course, be an elaborate game of deception. The problem is trying to discern which side is being deceptive.

Using derogatory language, Velayati described the Persian Gulf Arab states as “the small countries on the margins of the Persian Gulf,” writing: “Your survival depends on picking up the crumbs from this table. In the rearrangement of grand equations, the small countries on the margins of the Persian Gulf have no place at the table; they will be eliminated, and their strategic existence is indebted to Tehran’s ceiling of tolerance.”…

‘Hormuz not the playground of aggressor America,’ says Iran

  • Iran’s military headquarters warns any US interference in the Strait of Hormuz will be met with a “decisive and swift response” as tensions continue to roil negotiations.
  • The US envoy to the UN Security Council, Mike Waltz, warned Iran over threats to close the Strait of Hormuz during an emergency session of the United Nations Security Council.

    Trump administration renews pressure on International Criminal Court

    The US says it will reject any effort by court to assert authority over citizens, days after judges sue over sanctions.

    The US is not a party to the Rome Statute, the court’s founding document, and the country is therefore not subject to the court’s jurisdiction.

    The administration of United States President Donald Trump has once again denounced the International Criminal Court (ICC), pledging that any effort to assert authority over US citizens would be considered a “direct affront” against the country’s sovereignty.
    Israel is also not a party to the Rome Treaty — though ‘Palestine’ is — and it has rejected the court’s authority.
     

    British lawyers’ body suspends ICC Prosecutor Khan over misconduct claim

    Khan is the subject of multiple investigations into allegations of sexual misconduct at the ICC.
