US Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said that economic measures against Iran will continue and those providing financial support to Iran will be targeted.
- In an appeal to the American people, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps spokesperson calls President Donald Trump a “big liar” and says the US has no choice but to leave the Middle East.
- Trump has rejected US news reports saying his administration offered Iran sanctions relief and access to its frozen funds, calling the story “a hoax”.
- Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi says Tehran has held indirect talks with the US through Qatari mediators in New York and expects Washington’s formal response to its proposal to reopen the Strait of Hormuz on Tuesday.
Ghalibaf, who is Iran’s chief negotiator, said earlier if Iran’s security is not guaranteed, no infrastructure in the region is safe from attack. He added if Iran cannot freely sell its oil, no nation in the Gulf will be able to sell theirs.
Iran’s president says Tehran is willing to accept verification of its nuclear program and has no intention of attacking Americans.
Masoud Pezeshkian also said building nuclear weapons is against Islamic law, repeating Iran’s claim that its program is peaceful as Tehran continues pushing for renewed negotiations with Washington.
Training of Child Soldiers
The Islamic Republic is putting armed Basij among schoolchildren and turning schools into military spaces. It is also training boys as young as 12 for security roles. The regime is placing children beside armed forces during a war, exposing them to attack and treating their presence as human shields.

Lebanese PM discuss ‘disarming Hezbollah’
Lebanese Prime Minister Nawaf Salam has met with US senators from the Senate Foreign Relations Committee in Washington, DC, and discussed “disarming Hezbollah”, according to a US read-out from the meeting.
