Spain: the Invaders Never Left Ceuta

Tens of thousands of military-age men, (mostly young Moroccan men, with some from further afield) invaded Ceuta in late July 2026.
Some left, many remained.
Morocco has denied orchestrating the surge and rejects Spanish sovereignty claims over Ceuta (and Melilla), a long-standing dispute. Spain treats both as integral Spanish territory under continuous control for centuries (Portuguese conquest of Ceuta in 1415, later Spanish).

Invading Migrants Rush to Claim New ‘Temporary’ Shelter

In recent days, the Spanish socialist central government has continued its plans to establish new “temporary” migrant shelters all over Ceuta, with reports indicating that the administration of socialist Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez aims to reach a 10,000 bed capacity across all centers for the thousands of illegal migrants that are still in the city following the late July invasion of the exclave.

Police begin operation to move migrants from Ceuta beaches

The Spanish North African exclave of Ceuta endured another chaotic night into early morning after an avalanche of invading migrants still in the city rushed a new “temporary” seaside shelter.

As part of broader plans, the Spanish government took control of the Port of Ceuta earlier this month and began preparing a new migrant shelter facility near the port’s west pier. Nearby residents and workers have protested against the center, with locals and law enforcement officials deeming the shelter to be a significant security risk and a violation of existing critical infrastructure security regulations.

Spain’s Unified Police Union (SUP) filed a motion before the National Court seeking to halt the opening of the center. While the court ruled on Wednesday to temporarily suspend the opening, it surprisingly rescinded the suspension just a day later. Hours after the ruling was issued, Spanish authorities immediately began to transfer migrants who remain in shanty makeshift tents at the Benítez and Trampolín beaches into the center, just as the Spanish government originally planned.

The transfer, however, was far from orderly, leading to a swarm of migrants rushing their way into the migrant shelter at the port. The local outlet El Faro de Ceuta published footage of the chaotic events on social media.

Animal Rights Activists Defend Muslim Migrants Killing Animals

They never cared about animals or the environment. After horrifying images of Muslim migrants who had invaded the Spanish North African territory of Ceuta killing a baby dolphin went viral, animal rights activists rallied to their defense. “The party rejects the instrumentalization of the suffering of a people or of its animals to foment hatred,”

Pedro Sánchez’s Ceuta Scapegoat, Israel, Helps Him Conceal the Fiasco of His Misrule

Pedro Sánchez is the socialist prime minister of Spain. His brother, David Sánchez, has recently been convicted of administrative misconduct, having been given a high-ranking post created solely for him, while Sánchez’s wife, Begoña Gómez, has faced an ongoing corruption investigation and charges, but has not been definitively convicted.

His close political ally José Luis Ábalos, who previously served as a senior figure and secretary of the ruling Socialist Party (PSOE), was convicted of participation in a criminal organization, bribery, embezzlement of public funds, and influence peddling, and sentenced to 24 years in prison. And Abalos’s former longtime adviser, Koldo García, was also sentenced to 19 years in prison for his role in pocketing kickbacks from the scheme. Investigators are convinced that Pedro Sánchez himself will eventually be brought up on charges of corruption.

These convictions represent the first major verdicts involving members of Sánchez’s administration and immediate family. They have fueled intense calls from opposition parties demanding Sánchez’s resignation, though Sánchez has so far managed to hold on, while claiming that the allegations against his inner circle were the result of a politically motivated campaign.
