The modern Left has built an entire political business model around convincing people they are victims. If you are struggling, the system must be rigged. If your neighbor has more, he must have taken it from you.
If you make a bad decision, someone else must be responsible. And somehow, the answer is always another government program.
Free never really means free. Free college, free health care, free housing, and free money all come with a bill. Someone works for it, someone earns it, and someone pays for it.
Government does not produce wealth. It takes wealth from the people who do, burns part of it through bureaucracy, then hands some back while demanding gratitude.
That is not compassion. Compassion helps people get back on their feet. The victimhood industry teaches them to stay down and wait for another check.
Hardship is real. Injustice is real. People are not born into identical circumstances.
But turning every difficulty into a permanent identity robs people of initiative, dignity, and hope. It also gives politicians a dependable class of voters who have been taught to fear independence.
The rich are not automatically responsible for your financial situation. Envy is not an economic policy. You cannot tax a nation into prosperity, and every expansion of government ultimately means less room for citizens to direct their own lives.
America never promised equal outcomes. It promised liberty, opportunity, property rights, and the freedom to rise.
Victimhood is political currency. Self-reliance makes a citizen much harder to control.
