Last week, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps sent Americans a 26-page letter. The message? “Death to America” isn’t aimed at you. It’s aimed at your government.
The timing is no accident. The letter was released September 29, just five weeks before the midterms, and IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi unveiled it in Tehran.
According to the IRGC, the chant is “a prayer for the eradication of the diabolical ruling elite whose seat of power is the White House.” It is, they insist, “not an expression of ill will toward the American people.”
Anyone who has followed Iran for more than five minutes knows how this works. They tell you the slogan is harmless. Then they go right on doing whatever they please.
Look at the proxies. Hezbollah, Hamas, and the Houthis all run on Iranian cash, Iranian weapons, and Iranian marching orders. Those groups have killed American troops and attacked American ships. The letter calls that a misunderstanding.
Look at the nuclear program. Iran swears it isn’t building a bomb, yet it keeps enriching uranium.
Countries without bomb ambitions don’t push enrichment toward weapons grade or hide the work deep under mountains.
The letter says the program is peaceful. The centrifuges tell a different story.
And what would they do with a bomb? Use it on Israel and the United States.
Their missiles already face west. Their doctrine already names the targets. The letter wants you to believe they have no desire to kill Americans. Their actions say the opposite.
Twenty-six pages of words don’t erase the proxies, the enrichment, or a chant they’ve been shouting since 1979.
The IRGC wrote this letter because the war is hurting them and an American election is close. They want to change the meaning of the slogan while keeping the same target.
I’m not buying a new definition for an old threat. Death to America means exactly what it has always meant.
If the IRGC needs 26 pages to explain that “Death to America” doesn’t mean Americans, why are their proxies still killing American service members?

President Donald Trump announced Friday that Russia has agreed to supply millions of tons of diesel fuel to the American and global market, following a call with Russian President Vladimir Putin.

They insisted death to America did not mean death to the American people.
Their words: the chant “does not in any way express any ill will toward the American people.” They called it a prayer against the “diabolical ruling elite” in the White House. Just the leadership, they said. Not you.
Then they told you what to do with your ballot. “You can change the makeup of the government if you apply the criteria for good leadership in choosing the people you vote into office.” Remove “the evil, deceitful, and violent politicians.” Take back control. Do that, they wrote, and the two countries can live in peaceful coexistence. Refuse, and they warned of a “massive economic earthquake.” That is oil. That is the price at the pump.
IRGC spokesman Hossein Mohebbi said he did not expect the letter to move the Trump administration. He hoped American voters would hear it. There is no question who they are rooting for. Democrats. That is what they are holding out for.
Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent has said the regime is on its knees. Operation Economic Outcast, launched August 24, has driven the rial to record lows. Bessent said Iran had about 15 million barrels of oil left on the water, then nothing left to trade. President Trump has said they are dying because no money is coming in. They are nearly financially crippled.
They still think they can wait it out. If Democrats flip Congress, the war ends on their terms, the blockade loosens, and they go back to the nuclear scheming they have never quit. The cartoon has them holding the sign. The letter already printed it.
They are not hiding whose side they are on. A Democratic House is the exit they wrote 26 pages to get.
If the IRGC is writing American voters and betting a Democratic Congress ends the pressure, who benefits if the House flips in November?
